Week 9 of the college football season is setting up well for player props, and I want my numbers locked in before the full board takes shape. The best early angles come from players whose recent game logs line up with the roles they will carry into Saturday.
Arizona travels to Texas Tech, while unbeaten Miami visits North Carolina for a 7:30 PM ET kickoff on Halloween. Both games feature passing attacks producing big yardage right now, which gives me three targets across two matchups.
Below, I break down my early college football player props for Week 9 and my best bets to target, with an estimated target for each one. Every case is built on current individual production, so compare them against the college football player props board once lines begin to post.
Early College Football Player Props for Week 9
All three numbers are estimated targets I have set, not posted sportsbook lines, so there are no prices attached yet. The key takeaway is that each player has cleared his target in each of his last two games, and Fifita and Shipp have done it at least four straight times.

CFB Prop Pick #1: Noah Fifita Passing Yards, Arizona at Texas Tech
- Pick: Noah Fifita Over 245.5 Passing Yards (Estimated Target)
Noah Fifita has been remarkably consistent through the air this season. Through seven games, he has completed 167 of 225 attempts for 2,064 yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions, which works out to roughly 295 passing yards per game.
His game log makes the case for this target. Fifita has topped 245.5 yards in six of seven games, and the lone miss was a 230-yard outing. He has cleared the number in five straight, with every one of those games landing at 284 yards or more.
He also arrives in peak form after going 27 of 34 for 308 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Arizona’s 39-3 rout of Iowa State on October 24. A lopsided script is the main risk, but even with a comfortable lead last week, he still cleared this target by more than 60 yards. CFB Prop Pick #2: Darian Mensah Passing Yards, Miami at North Carolina
- Pick: Darian Mensah Over 261.5 Passing Yards (Estimated Target)
Heisman Trophy odds candidate Darian Mensah is driving a Miami offense that improved to 7-0 with a 52-23 win over Pitt last weekend. He completed 31 of 37 passes for 387 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, connecting with Malachi Toney for 194 receiving yards.
That was not a one-week spike. Mensah threw for 326 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against Florida State on October 17, clearing this target by 64.5 yards before topping it by 125.5 against Pitt. Back-to-back outings well above 261.5 tell me this number has room to spare.
The setup in Chapel Hill fits as well. Mensah has shown he can stack yardage quickly when Toney gets loose, and his accuracy keeps drives alive. If the Hurricanes, a National Championship odds contender, build a big lead, his volume could dip late, but his recent efficiency gives him a real cushion.
CFB Prop Pick #3: Jordan Shipp Receiving Yards, Miami at North Carolina
- Pick: Jordan Shipp Over 68.5 Receiving Yards (Estimated Target)
Jordan Shipp has become a steady producer for North Carolina, with 41 catches for 543 yards and two touchdowns through seven games. That works out to about 78 receiving yards per game, already comfortably above my target before accounting for his recent surge.
Shipp’s last four games are where this pick really comes together. He posted 109, 93, 75 and 102 receiving yards in that stretch, clearing 68.5 every time and averaging nearly 95 yards per game. Even his floor across that run sits above this number.
Most recently, he caught eight passes for 102 yards and a touchdown in a 31-30 loss to Syracuse. If Miami’s offense jumps ahead, North Carolina could lean on its passing game to keep pace, and Shipp is the receiver whose production has been climbing.
