Washington vs New York Probable Pitchers
The Nationals are expected to call up left-hander Evan Lee from Double-A Harrisburg to make the start in what will be his major league debut. Carlos Carrasco (5-1, 3.98) will pitch for the Mets and has +8000 NL Cy Young odds.
Both will be working on four days of rest.

— | ERA | 3.98 |
— | xERA | 3.41 |
— | WHIP | 1.15 |
— | SO/W | 5.75 |
Lee has not exactly been lighting it up in the Eastern League, going 0-3 with a 3.90 ERA in seven starts for Harrisburg. He lost to Altoona last Friday when he was tagged for five runs (four earned) and 10 hits in five innings while striking out six and walking none.

The 24-year-old Lee was the Nationals’ 15th-round draft pick in 2018 from the University of Arkansas. He has a 7-8 career record in the minor leagues with a 3.79 ERA in 42 games (30 starts).
Carrasco is 4-0 with a 3.60 ERA in his last five starts, including beating the Philadelphia Phillies last Friday in New York despite a shaky outing. Carrasco was touched for five runs in 5.2 innings while giving up six hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Carrasco has a 1-1 career record against the Nationals with a 4.87 ERA in five games (four starts).
Citi Field has been a comfortable place for Carrasco to pitch this season as he is 3-0 with a 3.23 ERA in five starts. He is 3-1 with a 3.63 ERA in seven starts in day games.

The Nationals’ Nelson Cruz is a .371 hitter (13 for 35) against Carrasco with five home runs and three doubles while Josh Bell is 5 for 12 (.417) with one double. Cesar Hernandez is hitless in six at-bats with three strikeouts.
Nationals vs Mets Betting Outlook
Mark Canha had four of the Mets’ 17 hits Wednesday night as they pounded the Nationals. That tied a career for Canha.
Canha led off the bottom of the first inning with a single. Starling Marte followed with a home run to give the Mets a quick 2-0 lead and they rolled from there.

Jeff McNeil had three hits for the Mets while Eduardo Escobar homered and Francisco Lindor drove in a run for a ninth straight game. All nine Mets starters had at least one hit.
Center fielder Brandon Nimmo could return to the Mets’ lineup after not starting the previous with games with a sore right wrist. Nimmo did enter Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning to play defense.
Dee Strange-Gordon had three of the Nationals’ six hits.
Cruz sat out after sustaining a bruised left ankle on Monday night and is questionable for Wednesday. Shortstop Alcides Escobar will likely sit out after leaving in the fourth inning Tuesday with a right leg injury.

Nationals vs Mets Prediction
While the price is high, playing the Mets against a pitcher who has yet to win a game in seven Double-A starts this season is the only way to go.
