Manoah took his first loss of the season Sunday against the Rays at Tampa Bay, despite turning in a quality start. In six innings, he allowed three runs (one earned), five hits and no walks to go with four strikeouts.

Cincinnati reliever Joel Kuhnel, infielder Brandon Drury and outfielder Albert Almora Jr. were placed on the restricted list. They were unable to cross the Canadian border because they are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Blue Jays left fielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. sat out the game with a tight left hamstring and is questionable for Saturday.
