The 2021-22 regular season is officially over and we now look ahead to the NBA Play-In Tournament, which begins on Tuesday. In the East, the No. 7 Brooklyn Nets host the No. 8 Cleveland Cavaliers, with the winner set to face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the postseason. The loser will take on the winner of Hornets vs Hawks for the chance to lock down the final playoff seed later this week.
In the West, it’s the same scenario as the Minnesota Timberwolves welcome the Los Angeles Clippers to town in what should likely be the most exciting matchup of the two games.

Odds as of April 12th at FanDuel Sportsbook
Evan Mobley has returned to the lineup for the Cavaliers, and they’ll likely need the ROY favorite to have a big game if they want any chance to upset the Nets.

KD Steps Up When it Matters Most
How could we not write about a Kevin Durant player prop? The Nets star has played at a high level all season long averaging 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists on a sharp 38.3% clip from three-point land. Last time out, KD only registered 20 points against the Indiana Pacers. However, he’s hit the over in points in three of his last five outings, including a ridiculous 55-point showing against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
As we know, Durant always steps up and delivers in the playoffs. This is one of the most gifted scorers to ever pick up a basketball. In fact, he scored 49, 32, and 48 in the last three games of the Eastern Conference Semis vs. Milwaukee in 2021, but it wasn’t enough for Brooklyn to advance. Nevertheless, Tuesday’s game is very important and I have zero doubts Durant will rise to the occasion like everyone expects him to. Plus, he just dropped 36 points on the Cavs only four days ago. There’s no one on their roster who can contain him.
- Pick: Kevin Durant Over 31.5 Points (-114)
Paul George to Go Under Point Total
The Clippers come into Tuesday’s contest red-hot, winning five in a row. It’s truly been a team effort though because Paul George hasn’t been scoring at a very high level as per usual. In all fairness, he did just come back from injury. However, PG is thriving elsewhere when it comes to being a presence on the boards and most notably, dishing out dimes. He had 12 of them on April 9th against Sacramento and has done a nice job of being a consistent facilitator.
Now the over/under for his points here is set at 28.5, which feels steep. The only time he actually hit the over since coming back was on March 29th, showing out for 34. I have zero doubts the veteran is going to play a massive part in the outcome. But, in three games vs. Minnesota this season, he’s only gone above 28.5 once. The under feels like a solid pick.
- Pick: Paul George Under 28.5 Points (-110)
