Timberwolves vs Bulls Injury Report

The Timberwolves list seven players as game-time decisions, including Anthony Edwards (knee), D’Angelo Russell (lower leg), Patrick Beverley (ankle), Naz Reid (knee), Taurean Prince (ankle), Josh Okogie (quadriceps) and McKinley Wright IV (elbow).

Beverley and Okogie were both sidelined Wednesday. The seldom-used Wright has not played since Jan. 23.

Nikola Vucevic (hip) and Ayo Dosunmu (concussion) are game-time decisions for the Bulls. Out with longer-term injuries are Lonzo Ball (knee), Alex Caruso (wrist), Derrick Jones (finger) and Patrick Williams (wrist).

Dosunmu sat out Wednesday’s game after being injured Monday in a loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Timberwolves Betting Outlook

The Timberwolves had also won five in a row against the spread before losing as a seven-point favorites to the Kings. Minnesota is 29-26 ATS overall and 15-14 on the road.

Russell shined in defeat as he scored 29 points and dished 10 assists. He made 6 of 13 shots from three-point range while notching his ninth double-double of the season and falling just short of his fourth game of 30 or more points.

Edwards added 26 points, 15 in the first quarter. That came a night after he was held to a season-low five points in the Timberwolves’ win over the Kings.

Karl-Anthony Towns ran his streak of consecutive games with at least 20 points to eight as he finished with 21. He also had eight assists and seven rebounds.

Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 13 points.

Despite taking a 15-point lead in the first quarter, the Timberwolves looked tired on the second night of the back-to-back. They were hammered on the boards, getting outrebounded 51-34, and allowed the Kings to shoot 51.6% (48 of 93) overall and made 12 of 30 (40.0%) from distance.

Bulls Betting Outlook

Headed to his fifth All-Star Game and establishing himself as an NBA MVP candidate, DeMar DeRozan has scored at least 30 points in four straight games. He is averaging 37.5 a game in that span while shooting 56.9%

DeRozan dropped 36 on the Hornets on Wednesday night while making 13 of 19 field goal attempts. His 27.4 scoring average is fourth-best in the league.

Zach LaVine finished with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists. It was the seventh time in the last eight games that he scored at least 20.

Nikola Vucevic notched his 12th double-double in his last 14 games as he contributed 18 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists and three blocked shots. Vucevic is fifth in the NBA in rebounding with 11.7 a game.

With trade rumors swirling around him the night before the NBA trade deadline, Coby White added 15 points. The Bulls wound up hanging on to White.

The Bulls had an efficient offensive night as they shot 56.1% (46 of 82), including 48.5% (16 of 33) on threes. However, the Hornets turned 14 Chicago turnovers into 25 points.

Timberwolves vs Bulls Prediction

While the teams have split their last four meetings, the Timberwolves have won nine of the last 12.

The Timberwolves notched a 121-117 victory last April 11 in the most recent meetings as Towns had 27 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists and Russell also scored 27. The Bulls got 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists from LaVine.

The Bulls are coming off a strong showing in Charlotte and have been profitable at home this season. However, the Timberwolves were playing well until Wednesday’s clunker in Sacramento, have had recent success against Chicago and look enticing with the points.
