Paul George’s playoff career-high 41 points propelled the Clips to an important win on Monday night in the Desert. As a whole, Los Angeles was frankly the better team in Game 5, with the Suns’ supporting cast struggling to produce alongside Devin Booker and Chris Paul.

Injury Report
The Suns have a clean bill of health for Wednesday. The Clippers however, will likely be without Kawhi Leonard again due to a knee injury. He hasn’t played this entire series and didn’t travel to Phoenix for Game 5. Big man Ivica Zubac has an MCL sprain in his knee and was sidelined on Monday. There’s certainly a chance he doesn’t suit up again, but we’re still waiting on the official update of his status for this contest.

Phoenix Looking to Close it Out
The Suns had a chance to book their ticket to the Finals on Monday night in front of their fans, but they failed to do so. It felt like an uphill climb for Phoenix all game long after getting off to a slow start in the first quarter. Monty Williams’ team led by just 1 point in Game 5 and trailed by as many as 16 in the 116-102 loss.
The Suns are typically very good at taking care of the basketball. That wasn’t the case on Monday though, turning the ball over 14 times which resulted in 23 points for the Clippers. They will need to clean that up in Game 6 and limit the mistakes.
The real dagger for Phoenix was inside, getting outscored 58-32 in the paint. Deandre Ayton didn’t have a great night with just 10 points and 11 rebounds, while PG was having his way with the Suns around the hoop. While Booker and Paul combined for 53 points, the likes of Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, and Cam Payne were relatively quiet. All three players are weapons that complement Booker and CP3 perfectly and when they’re not producing, it makes things a lot more difficult offensively.

The bottom line is the Suns need to come out of the gates firing from the tip in Game 6 and set the tone early.
Can Clips Complete The Comeback?
Going down 3-1 in this series never seemed to worry the Clippers. After all, Ty Lue’s squad did come back from a 2-0 deficit in the last two rounds to advance to the conference finals. The current situation is a whole different beast though, but LA is close.
Without Kawhi, no one gave the Clips much hope. But, George has completely flipped that narrative on its head with his nightly dominance. PG was nothing short of amazing in Game 5, shooting a ridiculous 75% from the field in a 41-point performance.
Paul George has logged 735 minutes in the playoffs 😳

But, the LA star also had lots of help. Marcus Morris dropped 22, while Reggie Jackson continued to make a name for himself on the big stage with 23 points. DeMarcus Cousins was arguably the biggest surprise though.
He played just 11 minutes and collected 15 points while doing a great job of going toe-to-toe with Ayton. If Zubac is out again in Game 6, it would no surprise to see Lue use Cousins in a more advanced role again.
Prediction
While the Clippers have truly been the comeback kings in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, I think their bid for a berth in the Finals will end here. The Suns are going to bounce back after a dismal performance in Game 5 and officially end this series. The last two rounds saw Phoenix clinch on the road and I firmly believe that’s going to happen again on Wednesday night. Expect Booker to show out, while CP3 and Ayton will also rise to the occasion. Take the Suns to cover the slim 1-point spread.
Pick: Phoenix Suns -1 (-104)
