After a wild Game 4 victory, the OKC Thunder return home with a chance to close out the Minnesota Timberwolves and advance to the franchise’s second NBA Finals.
This could very well be a 2-2 series if Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle weren’t blanketed for a combined 21 points last time out.
It’s made even worse by the fact that MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams combined to drop 74 in their biggest game of the season.
We’ve got Minnesota’s go-to guys front and center in our Game 5’s same-game parlay — with mixed results.

Timberwolves vs Thunder Parlay Leg #1 – Randle Over 17.5 Points
With OKC going all out to stifle Anthony Edwards, the table was set for Randle to take some pressure off his star teammate, but instead, he logged his second ugly game of the series, going 1-for-7 for five points in the 128-126 loss.
Randle has alternated between super impactful performances and duds in the Western Conference Finals.
If the trend continues, then Randle should be able to find his way in Minnesota’s biggest game of the season.
The Timberwolves are hoping it’s a return to the Game 1 Randle in OKC: the one who shot 9-for-13 from the field (and 5-for-6 from 3-point range) en route to a team high 28 points.
The reason he gets the nod here over Edwards is simply math. Randle needs to get to 18 points, as opposed to Ant’s 28. It’s a figure Randle has hit 11 times in 14 playoff games.
- The Bet: Randle Over 17.5 points (-115 at Bet365)
Timberwolves vs Thunder SGP Leg #2 – Holmgren Under 7.5 Rebounds
If it wasn’t for SGA and Williams going berserk at the Target Center in Game 4, there would have been much more talk about the standout play of Chet Holmgren.
The third-year man had his third excellent game in the WCF, scoring 21 points and coming up with clutch plays on both ends of the court.
However, Chet’s rebounding figures have dipped against the Timberwolves, and creates a nice line at plus-odds to roll into this SGP.
Holmgren has gone Under his 7.5 rebounding line in every game this series, though he’s come close, touching seven rebounds twice, including last time out.
His role against Denver was a little more rebound oriented, but he’s guarding out on the perimeter more vs Minnesota and staying along the 3-point line on offense to keep the spacing nice.
As a 7-footer, he will get boards, but I like him staying Under the total again.
- The Bet: Holmgren Under 7.5 rebounds (+110 at Bet365)
Timberwolves vs Thunder Same-Game Parlay Leg #3 – Edwards Under 3.5 3-Point Makes
Maybe Anthony Edwards will assume the mantle of face of the NBA. But for now? The talented wing is struggling to assume the mantle of go-to guy on his team.
Edwards was hounded and specifically targeted by an extremely talented OKC defense, and he went a little too passive and trusting the flow of the game. The result was just two field goals attempted in the first half.
By the time Ant wanted to get aggressive it was too late, and in the biggest game of the year, Edwards finished with 16 points on 13 shots, including a dismal 1-for-7 from 3-point range.
The books are giving him respect, setting his make line at 3.5, but he’s shooting just 31.3% from distance in the West Finals, and he’s gone Under this line three of four games.
Edwards’ confusion over how to attack this Thunder defense has resulted in a default to chuck contested 3-pointers. I think he focuses more on attacking the rim than dialing it up from long range in this must-have for Minnesota.
- The Bet: Edwards Under 3.5 3-point makes (-155 at bet365)
