As if getting clubbed by the Michigan Wolverines didn’t already have them staggering into the College Football Playoff, the Ohio State Buckeyes will now have to deal with the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl.

The Bulldogs followed up their national-title season with a perfect 13-0 regular season and SEC Championship.

They boast the seventh-best defense in the country, and have seen the blueprint after Michigan routed the Buckeyes 45-23 in the Big Ten Championship game.

That plays a factor in our same-game parlay for this matchup, which goes Saturday (Dec 31) at 8pm ET from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. You can watch the game live on ESPN.

We’re also counting down to the new year, as Ohio sports betting is set to go live January 1, 2023. Make sure you check the latest sportsbook promo codes and prepare to get in on the action!

Daijun Edwards Over 54.5 Rushing Yards

Georgia brings the 17th-best rush attack in the nation into this one. Putting up 207 yards per game, they’re one of 25 schools to pump out 200+ yards a contest this season.

The Bulldogs’ rush attack is three-headed, with Kenny McIntosh leading the way with 709 yards and 10 TD’s, while Daijun Edwards ran for 681 and seven scores. Kendall Minton makes it three Georgia backs to top 500 yards rushing on the year.

We’ll focus on Edwards, whose total is 10 yards less than McIntosh’s (64.5) at +115 odds.

He’s coming off a 12-rush, 77-yard performance in the SEC championship, and has crossed this total three straight games, and eight of his last 10 outings.

Ohio State ranks 25th in the nation in run defense, but they’re coming off a loss where they surrendered 216 yards to backup Donovan Edwards. Georgia should be able to spread the wealth.

Marvin Harrison Jr Under 84.5 Receiving Yards

Consider this one more of a feel pick than anything else. If you’re not up for it, feel free to take a flyer on Miyan Williams’ under rush total against the best run defense in college football.

Harrison Jr is the lights-out playmaker of this Buckeyes’ offense, with 72 catches, 1,157 yards, 12 TD’s. He’s a sure-fire bet to make it to the NFL like his pops.

Georgia’s pass defense is still formidable, surrendering 215.3 yards per game, though they did just allow 502 yards passing to LSU in their 50-30 SEC title-game win.

And while they did see two receivers surpass 100+ yards in this contest, that makes five receivers all year that have crossed Harrison Jr’s 84.5 total.

I don’t doubt Ohio State will be chucking it, but I think Georgia’s game plan will center around slowing down Harrison Jr.

Stetson Bennett Under 254.5 Passing Yards

Bennett was stellar in the SEC Championship, going 23-for-29 for 274 yards and four touchdowns.

It’s the first time in three games that he’s crossed this total, however, throwing for 140 against Georgia Tech and 116 against Kentucky. The Yellow Jackets are 47th in pass defense, while the Wildcats are seventh.

The Buckeyes feature the 14th-best passing defense in the nation, holding teams to 184 yards and surrendering 16 TD’s through the air all season.

This doesn’t mean Bennett won’t make an impact, but look for the rush attack to do a lot of heavy lifting.
