Texas A&M vs Alabama Odds & Pick

#1 Alabama (5-0) looks to avenge its lone loss of the 2021 regular season when it hosts Texas A&M (3-2) on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide jumped over Georgia into the top spot of the AP media poll Sunday.

Alabama has opened as a 22.5-point favorite.

The Crimson Tide beat Arkansas 49-26 on Saturday despite losing quarterback Bryce Young, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, to a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. Young’s 2022 Heisman odds faded from +425 to +900 last night.

Backup quarterback Jalen Milroe led Alabama to touchdowns on his first two drives. Jahmyr Gibbs also picked up the slack with 206 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.

Texas A&M lost at Mississippi State 42-24 as it was hampered by four turnovers. Three of the giveaways came in the red zone.

The Aggies also were hurt by a blocked punt that Mississippi State’s Decamerion Richardson returned 50 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

That put the Bulldogs ahead 21-3.

Alabama coach Nick Saban and Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher got into a war of words over the summer about the Aggies’ use of NIL money. Look for the Crimson Tide to be ready to run up the score in this one, especially with Young likely to play.

Pick: Alabama -22.5 (-110)

Washington State vs USC Odds & Pick

#6 Washington State (4-1) will see if it can knock off USC (5-0), the top team in the Pac-12, when the teams meet Saturday night in Los Angeles. The home team has opened as 13.5-point picks in WSU vs USC.

On Saturday, Washington State handled California 28-9 at home as Cameron Ward threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Ward was also intercepted in the end zone twice.

Renard Ball caught eight passes for 115 yards and a TD.

Caleb Williams passed for 348 yards and three touchdowns and scored on a run to lead USC over Arizona State 42-25. The Trojans remaining unbeaten in Lincoln Riley’s first season as coach.

Mario Williams, Malcolm Epps and Kyron Hudson caught the TD passes from Caleb Williams.

Jordan Addison had eight catches for 105 yards.

Washington State is off to a good start but isn’t in USC’s class. Look for the Trojans to roll in this one.

Pick: USC -13.5 (-110)

That’s Outta Line

Oregon has opened as a 10.5-point road favorite over Arizona, which is a fairly sizeable number.

However, Oregon is 4-1 under first-year coach Dan Lanning. The Ducks have won four games in a row since being thumped 49-3 by defending national champion Georgia in their season opener.

Arizona is 3-2 and making progress after going 1-11 last year in Judd Fisch’s first seasons as coach. However, the Wildcats aren’t quite in Oregon’s league yet and the Ducks are a favorite of the betting public.  Expect this line to go up.
