Both the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints will be taking the field minus some key personnel as they cash in the NFL Week 9 MNF game.

For the Ravens, tight end Mark Andrews has been ruled out due to a combination of knee and shoulder ailments. Andrews is Baltimore’s leading receiver this season.

On the New Orleans depth chart, scratch four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore. An abdominal injury will be keeping him out of this game.

Baltimore Ravens Injury Report

The Ravens could very well be facing the Saints without their #1 tight end, wide receiver and running back. Two of the three are definitely out, and the news is not promising regarding the third member of this group.

Andrews, as noted above, is out. He’s been unable to practice at all this week. He’s leading the club in receptions (42), receiving yards (488), and touchdown catches (five). He’ll be missing a game through injury for the first time during his five-season NFL career.

WR Rashod Bateman is already on injured reserve. He will be soon undergoing season-ending lisfranc surgery on his foot.

The glimmer of hope – and it’s a slim one – is that RB Gus Edwards might be able to answer the bell. Edwards also hasn’t practiced all week. However, the fact that he’s listed as doubtful is creating the slim possibility that he might suit up and play against the Saints. In two games since coming back from knee surgery, Edwards has carried the ball 27 times for 131 yards and two TDs.

One attraction to sitting out both players is that Week 10 is Baltimore’s bye week. It would mean two full weeks of rest for both injured players.

WR DeMarcus Robinson (groin), cornerback Marcus Peters (quad/knee), outside linebacker Malik Harrison (foot) and offensive lineman Patrick Mekari (back) are given an injury designation of questionable for the MNF game.

New Orleans Saints Injury Report

Lattimore hasn’t been able to play since Week 5. He was unable to practice all week long again this week.

Backup RB Mark Ingram (knee) and reserve LB Chase Hansen (knee) are also both being listed as out for this game. Ingram played just five offensive snaps in last week’s 24-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

There’s some good news for the Saints on the injury front. Anticipation is that WR Jarvis Landry, though listed as questionable, will be playing Monday. He’s been out since Week 4 with an ankle injury.

Considering that Michael Thomas (toe) was placed on IR this week, joining Deonte Harty (foot), the return of Landry will be a welcoming sight to the thin ranks of the New Orleans WR room.

How Could Injuries Affect Ravens vs Saints Lines?

When looking at the Ravens vs Saints player props, some names not normally in play must be taken under consideration. Rookie TE Isaiah Likely (six receptions, 77 yards, one TD), RB Kenyan Drake (62 yards, one TD catch), and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson (six receptions, 64 yards) all were enjoying big games last week in the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If he isn’t inhibited by his own injury, Robinson figures to be starting for the Ravens in Bateman’s place. Peters was able to practice this week and expectations are that he’ll be starting at LCB on Monday.

What’s interesting when looking at the Ravens vs Saints picks is that New Orleans pitched a shutout last week against the Raiders minus Lattimore, their best cover man. The Saints are the #10 defense in the NFL.

Even with all the skill player absences for New Orleans this season, QB Andy Dalton is still putting up on average 29 points per game. Last week’s 24-point output was the lowest for the club over the past five games.
