  • The Baltimore Ravens (5-3) visit the New Orleans Saints (3-5) to cap off Week 9
  • 2022 Record: 6-7, -1.47 units; Monday Night Football record: 3-4, -1.2 units

It’s not like the New Orleans Saints (3-5) to struggle at home. But with a record of 2-3 at Caesars Superdome this year, that’s exactly what’s happening.

For the Baltimore Ravens (5-3), they’ve enjoyed plenty of success away from home. They enter Monday night with a 3-1 record on the road this year. But that one loss was a doozy against the New York Giants.

If the Saints are going to get back to .500 at home this week, it’s going to happen on Monday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:15 pm.

The Ravens open up as road favorites for Monday night, but the odds are fairly tight. In fact they’ve got the second-shortest odds of any favorite in Week 9.

The short odds haven’t deterred the public however. In fact, NFL Public Betting Trends see the Ravens getting over 70% of the bets and money on the moneyline, along with 65% of the bets and 74% of the money when it comes to the spread.

There’s no respect for the Saints right now.

Ravens vs Saints Injury Report

While Gus Edwards was a breath of fresh air in the Ravens’ backfield, that only lasted two weeks.

Edwards tweaked his hamstring on Thursday Night Football against the Buccaneers, and is listed as doubtful. Mark Andrews is doubtful as well. Even though Isaiah Likely has flashed in limited action, a banged-up Andrews is still a massive blow.

Week 9 Injury Report

Ravens Injury, Status Saints Injury, Status
Mark Andrews, TE Knee/Shoulder, Doubtful Mark Ingram, RB Knee, OUT
Rashod Bateman, WR Foot, OUT Marshawn Lattimore, CB Abdomen, OUT
Gus Edwards, RB Hamstring, Doubtful Jarvis Landry, WR Ankle, Questionable
Marcus Peters, CB Quad/Knee, Questionable Chase Hansen, LB Knee, OUT
Demarcus Robison, WR Groin, Questionable N/A N/A
Malik Harrison, LB Foot, Questionable N/A N/A
Patrick Mekari, OT Back, Questionable N/A N/A

For the Saints, the biggest injury news of the week was reserved for Michael Thomas. Dynamic when he’s on the field, a foot injury has once again forced Thomas to Injured Reserve.

The Saints will also be missing Mark Ingram, Marshawn Lattimore, and Chase Hansen.

Alvin Kamara Continues to Dominate

Through the first three weeks of the season, it was fair to wonder if the usage was starting to catch up to Alvin Kamara. He had caught just five of 11 targets for 19 yards in two games, and while he was averaging over four yards per carry, he only posted totals of 39 and 61 yards.

The last four weeks have been a different story.

Kamara has at least six catches in each game for 268 yards and two touchdowns. While the rushing totals aren’t what they once were, he’s bumped his per-game average up to 78.3.

Home Teams on MNF in 2022

If there’s one thing we can seemingly rely on in this weird NFL season, it’s the home team on Monday nights.

While we haven’t always been blessed with the best prime time matchups, if you’re backing the hosts, you’re happy more often than not.

Monday Night Football Results

Week Matchup Result Closing Moneyline Total
Week 1 Broncos vs Sehawks SEA 17-16 DEN -6.5 43.5 (Under)
Week 2 Vikings vs Eagles PHI 24-7 PHI -2.5 49.5 (Under)
Week 2 Titans vs Bills BUF 41-7 BUF -9.5 47.5 (Over)
Week 3 Cowboys vs Giants DAL 23-16 DAL -2.5 38.5 (Over)
Week 4 Rams vs 49ers SF 24-9 SF -1.5 41.5 (Under)
Week 5 Raiders vs Chiefs KC 30-29 KC -7.5 50.5 (Over)
Week 6 Broncos vs Chargers LA 19-16 N/A Knee, OUT
Week 7 Bears vs Patriots CHI 33-14 NE -9.5 40.5 (Over)
Week 8 Bengals vs Browns CLE 32-13 CIN -3.5 45.5 (Under)

Some of the most surprising results of the season have involved home ‘dogs. Everyone thought, including us, that Russell Wilson was walking out of Week 1 with a win. And despite a banged up secondary, the Browns were able to pull one over on the Bengals last week.

As the season goes on, it’s become harder and harder to ignore the home side, even if they aren’t favored.

Ravens vs Saints Pick

The above information wasn’t presented to you by accident.

Baltimore is suffering through a couple of key injuries on offense. And while Likely is a popular add in fantasy leagues this year, and the Ravens don’t need to lean heavily on their running backs, they’re still reaching down the depth chart.

Couple that with Alvin Kamara’s recent run of dominance, and the Saints may have what it takes on Monday.

The Pick: New Orleans Saints (+108); 1 unit
