How to Watch Detroit vs Dallas on Saturday

Viewers in the United States can watch this Detroit vs Dallas game on Saturday night on ABC and ESPN while viewers in Canada can watch on DAZN or TSN.

Lions vs Cowboys Head-to-Head History

The last game between the teams was last season in this venue where Dallas won 24-6. That’s one of many recent wins by Dallas over Detroit as the Cowboys have won each of the past five games by 18, 8, 2, 21 and 4 points.

Lions vs Cowboys Public Betting Trends

In NFL public betting, the public is split with their Detroit vs Dallas ATS picks with 65% of the money on Cowboys, but 59% of the bets on the Lions. Moneyline bets are firmly backing the Cowboys to stay undefeated at home with that bet garnering 60% of the money and 83% of the bets. There’s 71% of the money coming in the Over in totals betting, but just 55% of the bets as of Friday.

Lions Clinch NFC North With Win Over Vikings

The last time Detroit won their division, way back in 1993, it wasn’t even called the NFC North, it was the NFC Central.

With a 30-24 road win in Minnesota they’ve clinched it once again and have moved to 11-4. Jared Goff threw for 257 yards and a touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St Brown who finished with 106 yards receiving. It was on the ground though where Detroit ran through Minnesota with Jahmyr Gibbs rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns and David Montgomery 55 yards and one touchdown himself.

Detroit now has back-to-back wins after beating Denver 42-17 the week prior and have won three of their past four.

After giving up 38, 14, 38, 26, 29, 28 and 28 points defensively, the Lions’ defense has improved at least slightly in allowing 17 and 24 in their past two games.

Little is slowing down their offense that ranks fifth in PPG, not even playing on the road. In fact, in their past four road games they’ve scored 30 or more points three times.

Cowboys Lose Back-to-Back Road Games

The Cowboys have had the same narrative for much of the season. Great at home and against weak opponents. And poor on the road and against teams with winning records.

Their last two games came on the road where they lost 31-10 in Buffalo and 22-20 in Miami.

Dak Prescott had 253 yards through the air and two scores, of which CeeDee Lamb had 118 yards and one score, but the run game never got going and they allowed Tua Tagovailoa to throw for 293 yards and one touchdown.

That’s actually not too bad, especially when you consider the Dolphins had to settle for five field goals. The Cowboys were leading 20-19 until Miami’s game-winning 29-yard kick as time expired. So defensively they were solid enough against one of the league’s top offenses, but Dallas stalled out on too many drives themselves going just 4/12 on third down conversions.

Lions vs Cowboys Prediction

Both teams are among the favorites in the Super Bowl 58 odds, with Detroit priced as short as 16-1 and Dallas as low as 10-1.

The Lions are tied for the best ATS mark in the league at 10-5. On the road they’re 6-2 ATS, as an underdog they’re 1-1 and as a road underdog they’re 1-1.

The Cowboys aren’t far behind in overall ATS at 9-6. When playing at home they’re 6-1 ATS, as a favorite they’re 9-2 ATS and as a home favorite they’re 6-1 ATS.

Over bettors have been cleaning up betting on these teams which contributes to the week-high total of 52.5. Detroit is a league-high 10-5 to the Over, while Dallas is 8-7 to the Over.

Not only is Dallas undefeated at home this season, but their home winning streak stretches back to last season too and they’re currently on a 15-game home winning streak.

But they’ve also lost back-to-back games for the first time since 2021. You also can’t ignore the fact that their only wins over winning teams have come over the Eagles, Rams and Seahawks, and those last two are just 8-7.

Dallas could still potentially win their division but it’s unlikely with the Eagles playing Arizona this week. So they’re likely stuck in the five seed. Detroit is third in the NFC, tied with Philly and San Fran at 11-4 so could still improve their seeding slightly with some wins and upsets upsets/losses elsewhere in the final two weeks. Let’s back the Lions at least keeping this close.

Lions vs Cowboys Picks: Detroit (+5.5)
