It’s the battle of two perpetually underachieving New York teams tonight in NFL Preseason play between the Giants and Jets. This game will mark the exhibition finale for both teams, and John Harbaugh and Aaron Glenn are being tight lipped about their plans in the final tuneup before the regular season. Online sportsbooks and prediction markets believe Harbaugh and his impressive career pre-season record means the Giants will walk away as victors in the latest NFL odds.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PM PT from Metlife Stadium, with CBS handling TV duties. Keep reading for my Giants vs Jets picks, starters and betting splits, below.

Giants vs Jets Starters

Neither team are remotely close to featuring as Super Bowl odds favorites, with the Giants +7000 and the Jets far further back at +30000. Given their lack of success for many years, both coaches will be wise to rest any key players. New Giants HC John Harbaugh is toying with the idea of giving starting QB Jaxson Dart a series or two, but then giving way to the backups in camp battles to make the roster.

As for their adversaries, Aaron Glenn seems content to not play starter Geno Smith and to rest all key players as the Jets attempt to make the postseason for the first time since 2010.

Both Giants backup QB’s (Jameis Winston and Brandon Allen) have been efficient in the pre-season, sporting 76% and 69% completion percentages. Neither has thrown a TD however, and Allen has suffered a pair of interceptions. NYG lost 13-10 in their first pre-season duel to Minnesota, but came back to wallop the Dolphins 26-3.

On the other sideline, the Jets are also 1-1, with a 24-16 loss to TB chased with a 17-0 shutout of Pittsburgh. Rookie 4th round QB Cade Klubnik has received some love for his 15-21 passing line so far through two outings, and has been pushing Smith to potentially eventually become the main man at pivot.

Should the Jets get off to a rocky start and HC Aaron Glenn get concerned about job security, he could turn to his rookie quarterback for a spark and perhaps allow the Jets to surpass their NFL win totals mark of 5.5 victories.

Giants vs Jets Picks

Though the Giants lost their first game this preseason, I can’t shake the remarkable stat that John Harbaugh has accumulated in his NFL career. He’s a phenomenal 49-17 all-time, and is 48-18 ATS in that span. That includes his amazing 24 straight victories in pre-season with the Ravens. Considering the fact he may give some reps to starters early in this contest, that might be enough to cover this 3-point spread.

In a game that’s expected to be so close, I lean towards the HC with the better pedigree. Before you make any wager trade tonight, use the Kalshi promo code to score a bonus.

As you’ll see below, the public is also believing in my prediction as well, as they back Harbaugh’s boys over Glenn’s unit.

Giants vs Jets Betting Splits

Looking at the NFL public betting splits reveals that the public is sold on the Giants coming out on top, with a whopping 85% of wagers and 75% of the money coming in on them. As for them covering the 3 point spread, it’s a lot closer, with just 54% of bets and 61% of cash plunked down on the G-Men. The total points market has 71% on OVER 36.5 points being accumulated.
