Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets Inactive and Injury Reports for Thursday Night Football
Jets quarterback Mike White left the game several times after being hit by the Bills defense. He was able to come back and finish the game.

  • In the Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets Inactive and Injury Reports for Thursday Night Football, the Jets will again be without QB Mike White (ribs)
  • For the Jaguars, two starters on defense, LDE Folorunso Fatukasi (ankle) and SLB Travon Walker (ankle) are out
  • The Jets list RDT Quinnen Williams (calf) and RB Zonovan Knight (ankle) as questionable

There’s a White out in New York as the Jets play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Week 16 TNF game. And it has nothing with the pre-Christmas blizzard that’s wreaking havoc with holiday plans and sports schedules.

Jets quarterback Mike White will be missing his second straight game due to a rib injury. That means Zach Wilson starts in what will be a showdown between the first (Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence) and second (Wilson) overall picks from the 2021 NFL Draft.

Lawrence is listed as questionable with a toe injury but is expected to play. However, Jacksonville linebacker Travon Walker, the first player chosen in the 2022 NFL Draft, is out with an ankle injury.

Walker is one of two defensive starters out for the Jaguars. White is the only Jets starter ruled out for this game.

The Jets are 2.5-point home favorites in this game in the Jaguars vs Jets picks. In the NFL odds, Jacksonville is 1-4 straight up and against the spread over their past five road games.

Kickoff at MetLife Stadium is set for 8:15 pm ET on Thursday, December 21. The game is airing exclusively on Amazon Prime as part of a new partnership for Thursday Night Football with Amazon.

The people are going against the oddsmakers and backing underdog Jacksonville in spread wagering in the Jaguars vs Jets public betting splits. Jacksonville was the 1.5-point road chalk in the Week 16 NFL opening odds.

Jacksonville Jaguars Injury Report

LDE Folorunso Fatukasi and Walker are Jacksonville defensive starters who are out for this game. On offense, starting LT Cam Robinson is done for the season with a torn meniscus.

RG Brandon Scherff (abdomen) and RT Jawaan Taylor (hamstring) are questionable for the Jaguars, along with Lawrence. On defense, LILB Chad Muma (ankle) is questionable, as is backup SS Andrew Wingard (shoulder).

New York Jets Injury Report

Wilson will be going under center with plenty of question marks among his key offensive weapons. RB Zonovan Knight, a workhorse of late, is questionable due to an ankle ailment.

Backup receivers Denzel Mims (concussion) and Jeff Smith (knee) are out. The good news is that WR Corey Davis (concussion) was a full participant in the last two practices leading up to the game.

Both starting tackles – Duane Brown (shoulder) and George Fant (knee) – were also removed from injury designation.

On defense, RDT Quinnen Williams (calf) and FS Lamarcus Joyner (hip) are starters who are questionable. Backup CB Brandon Echols (quad) is out.

How Could Injuries Affect Jaguars vs Jets Lines?

The thin crop of wide receivers for the Jets – they only show four healthy wideouts on the roster – means it’s likely that they will be activating a WR from the practice roster in time for the game. It also should mean taking a hard look at playing some receiving overs on Garrett Wilson in the Jaguars vs Jets player props.

With Knight banged up, there’s a chance that the Jets will activate former Jaguars RB James Robinson for this game. He’s been inactive the past two games. New York is showing Williams, who leads the Jets with 11 sacks, as a game-time decision. The Jets are remaining optimistic that Williams, Smith and Joyner will all be good to go in the game.

The return to health of Fant and Brown is a huge development. New York is showing just three healthy reserve offensive linemen on the roster. Backups Max Mitchell (blood clots) and Greg Senat (undisclosed) are out, while Alijah Vera-Tucker and Cedric Ogbuehi are on IR.

For Jacksonville, Walker has missed the last two games, while it will be the third absence of the season for Fatukasi. Second-year pro Walker Little is replacing Cam Robinson at LT.

All five of the Jaguars starters listed as questionable are trending toward playing.
