- Cornerback Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars
- Contrasting prop wagers on the outcome of this request have been released
- One prop favors Ramsey leaving Jacksonville; the other favors him staying
Jalen Ramsey has informed the Jacksonville Jaguars that he wants out.
Sportsbooks are offering a pair of contrasting prop wagers relating to Ramsey’s trade demand. The first prop favors Ramsey being traded by the Jaguars prior to the October 29th, 2019 NFL trade deadline.
The second prop, though, lists Jacksonville as the chalk to be Ramsey’s team following the passage of the trade deadline.
Will Jalen Ramsey Be Traded Before the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline?

---|---|
Yes | -250 |
No | +170 |

During Sunday’s 13-12 loss to the Houston Texans, Ramsey was separated by an assistant coach from the midst of a heated sideline discussion with Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone.

Marrone followed Ramsey over to where he was seated on the bench. The argument began again and this time, it was Jaguars safety Ronnie Harrison who guided Marrone away.
You know things are getting crazy on an NFL sideline when the head coach has to be pulled back. Apparently, Jalen Ramsey already melting down and it's not even halftime #Jaguars #Texans pic.twitter.com/clU9UyICB8

One of the best cover corners in the league, Ramsey wants to play man-to-man. Marrone prefers zone coverages in his team’s defensive scheme.
After the game, NFL sources indicated Ramsey’s agent David Mulugheta made his client’s trade request to the Jags front office.

The Jaguars have spoken with interested teams, but there is no current plan to trade Ramsey.

It’s understandable that the Jaguars would not want to part with Ramsey. All-Pro cornerbacks are among the most coveted NFL players.
Reports are that the Jags would want quite a cache in return for their star corner, a package that must include at least one first round draft pick.
Since the Jags selected him fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey started all 50 games. He’s made 202 tackles, nine interceptions, forced one fumble and broken up 45 passes.
Not the First Feud Between Marrone & Ramsey
It’s not the first time Ramsey and his team have publicly butted heads. Earlier this season, he skipped a voluntary team workout. He didn’t respond to texts from Marrone at the time. Later, the corner claimed it was because Marrone was texting the wrong number.

Seeking a contract extension, he showed for training camp this summer in a Brinks Truck.
This time, though, it may have gone too far for the Jags and Ramsey to patch things up.
Pick: Yes (-250).

Logically, the Kansas City Chiefs make the most sense as his future home. The Chiefs want to get past the New England Patriots and make it to the Super Bowl. Their weak leak is their defense.
But for public consumption, the Chiefs, who’ve endured their share of problem children, don’t seem anxious to bring on board another in need of babysitting.
@Chiefs source says the team isn’t interested in @Jaguars CB @jalenramsey now that he wants a trade. Source says the team’s locker room “is too good right now.” The team did ask @AZCardinals about CB Patrick Peterson earlier this year and was “emphatically told no.”

Speaking Tuesday for the first time since the trade request was reported, Ramsey sought to dial back the rhetoric, insisting neither he nor his agent leaked the report. At the same time, he changed the photo on his Instagram account and deleted all references to the Jaguars.

The Patriots and Eagles could both be suitors in the Ramsey bidding but if the Chiefs seriously want to end their 49-year Super Bowl drought, they need to go after him.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs (+400).
