CBS is carrying the broadcast in the United States.

Betting Analysis

The Kansas City Chiefs are firing on all cylinders, winning five in a row and seven of their last eight. They’ve registered at least 26 points in four of their last five games. QB Patrick Mahomes has been slinging the ball around, despite some of his targets missing games due to injury. He’s thrown for over 300 yards in six straight contests.

The Chiefs defense has allowed 17 points or fewer in three of their last four, as they rank ninth in points allowed (18.0) in their last three outings. Both teams are quite similar on D, in terms of yards allowed per game (Chiefs are 14th, Bengals are 13th). Cincy is 13th in points allowed/game, while KC is 16th.

The Bengals also come in hot, with victories in five of six. Four of the wins, however, came against teams below .500 (Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Steelers). However, they had a quality signature win against the Titans last week, 20-16. They’ve been chugging along despite not having the services of WR Ja’Marr Chase, who will obviously add another massive weapon for QB Joe Burrow.

The Chiefs are the second-best team according to Pro Football Focus (1st on offense, 8th on defense). Their counterparts are 8th overall (seventh on offense and 17th on D).

Injury Report

Both teams come into this affair with a relatively clean bill of health – KC already has placed WR Mecole Hardman and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on injured reserve. Other than those two, wideout Kadarius Toney is out, with RB Jerick McKinnon (hamstring) should play unless he suffers a setback.

The aforementioned Ja’Marr Chase is on track to play, according to head coach Zac Taylor. RB Joe Mixon is questionable (concussion), after he missed last week. They’re taking things on a twelve-hour basis, meaning he might not be cleared in time. Otherwise, Cincy is very healthy, with only LB Logan Wilson questionable to compete.

82% of bets have been placed for the Chiefs to cover the 2-point spread, with a 82% of bets on the over in Chiefs vs Bengals NFL betting trends, with 76% of bets placed on the Chiefs to win on the moneyline.

Chiefs vs Bengals Prediction

Last year, the Bengals defeated the Chiefs twice, each time by a field goal. The latter battle was the AFC title game, where Cincinnati won in overtime. The regular season duel saw Ja’Marr Chase have a monster game, with eleven receptions for 266 yards and three TD’s.

With both offenses being so explosive, points should come in droves in this contest, and it should come down to a tight battle for the third straight meeting. With their better track record against the Chiefs, taking the 1.5 points on the Bengals is the play.

The Pick:

  • Bengals +1.5 (-105); 1 unit to win 0.95 units
  • Over 52.5 points (-110) 1 unit to win 0.91 units

2022 record: 16-16; -0.50 units
