Finally, the Los Angeles Chargers (6-5, 7-4 ATS) are getting healthy and that could spell trouble for the Las Vegas Raiders (4-7, 5-6 ATS) when these teams meet up in Week 13 of the NFL schedule.
It’s been a difficult season for Los Angeles, but they were able to keep themselves entrenched in the AFC playoff odds with a win in the final seconds of their game last week. Nevertheless, the Chargers are 1-point road underdogs in the NFL odds when they visit the Raiders on Sunday.
Kickoff for this matchup is at 4:25 pm ET on Sunday, December 4th with the forecast calling for an ideal 58.2 degrees fahrenheit and pure sunshine throughout the game. This game will be televised on CBS. Below find more Chargers vs Raiders odds, plus our best bet and prediction.

It’s a dead heat in the NFL public betting trends when checking in on the point spread with 50% of the handle on each team. Still, 66% of the public bets are on Justin Herbert to lead the Chargers to their second win over the Raiders this year.
Chargers Getting Healthy?
If the Chargers get wide receiver Mike Williams back from injury, Los Angeles would be an even bigger threat to a leaky Raiders’ defense. There’s a possibility the wideout makes his return Sunday, but more likely he sits one more game out. It’s been ages since Herbert has had all his weapons at his disposal.
On the defensive side of the ledger, there was some concern after safety Derwin James popped up with a hip injury and did not practice Wednesday. However, this issue appears to have been minor given he was listed as a full participant for Thursday’s session.
Herbert Puts up Number vs Raiders
Since Herbert took over the reins under center for Los Angeles, they’ve been engaged in quite a few shootouts with the Raiders. In the five games he’s played against the Raiders, the teams have combined to average 53.2 points, so this year’s 24-19 season opener went contrary to expectations.
Most passing TD in first three seasons:
Dan Marino 98
Justin Herbert 88
Andrew Luck 86
Peyton Manning 85 pic.twitter.com/570njNuAef— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) November 28, 2022
The Chargers QB has thrown multiple touchdowns in all five games against the Raiders. Player props at Caesars Sportsbook lists odds of -199 for Herbert to throw over 1.5 passes and that’s a bet worth making given his history against Vegas.
Raiders Turning Things Around
Acquiring Davante Adams wasn’t necessarily going to make them favorites in the Super Bowl odds, but I’m sure the Raiders didn’t expect the season to go like this. For the first time all year though, the Raiders have some momentum coming off back-to-back overtime wins.
Adams has been on a tear all season and torched the Chargers for a 141-yard, one-touchdown stat line in their first matchup. Meanwhile, Josh Jacobs has been killing it in the run game and is coming off a 229-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance against Seattle.
Josh Jacobs is the only player since at least 1950 with 225+ rush yards & 70+ receiving yards in a single game.#RaiderNation @Raiders @iAM_JoshJacobs

The running back’s 86-yard game-winning major in the extra session against the Seahawks last week was the longest NFL touchdown run in overtime since 1998!
Chargers vs Raiders Pick & Prediction
When these teams get together, memories of last year’s epic final game of the NFL season rise to the surface when the Raiders defeated the Chargers 35-32 in overtime with a playoff spot awarded to the winner. We can only hope to see a similar contest again, albeit, not with the same implications.
The Raiders need a miracle to get to the post-season at this point, while the Chargers are right in the mix which makes it a tad surprising they’re slight underdogs in the NFL Week 13 lines.
Vegas has been playing better ball lately and with ideal conditions, we should see the offenses light it up. Both teams have not played well on defense with the Raiders ranked 27th in the league in total yards given up and the Chargers a smidge better at 26th.
That’s why we feel it’s best to avoid who is going to win and by how much in the NFL odds for this game, with the best bet to make on the over. Pick this game to top 49.5 points in the Chargers vs Raiders odds on Sunday.
