  • In the Miami Dolphins vs Los Angeles Chargers inactive and injury reports for Sunday Night Football, the Chargers are welcoming back WR Mike Williams (ankle)
  • Miami WR Tyreek Hill (illness) is also good to go after missing practice time earlier this week
  • All-Pro SS Derwin James (quadriceps) is among two LA defensive starters designated as doubtful

The Los Angeles Chargers are anticipating that all of their starting offensive skill players will be available to the team as they face the Miami Dolphins in the Week 14 SNF game.

The Dolphins vs Chargers inactive and injury reports for Sunday Night Football are showing that LA WR Mike Williams (ankle) is no longer being given an injury designation.

There is also good news for the Dolphins on the injury front. WR Tyreek Hill was back at practice Friday after missing a day due to illness. As well, starting LT Terron Armstead (pectoral) is also expecting to play.

Worrisome, though, is the situation on defense for the Chargers. All-Pro SS Derwin James (quadriceps) and RDE Sebastian Joseph-Day (knee) are starters who are listed as doubtful.

Miami is a 3.5-point road favorite over the Chargers in the NFL odds. Kickoff at SoFi Stadium is set for 8:15 pm ET on Sunday, December 11.

Miami is garnering support of the people in moneyline wagering in the Dolphins vs Chargers public betting splits. However, the public is divided in terms of spread wagering.

Miami Dolphins Injury Report

A telling sign that Armstead is good to go came Saturday when the Dolphins were opting to activate WR Freddie Swain from the practice roster. Had there been serious concern about Armstead’s status, it’s likely that Miami would’ve activated an offensive lineman for added depth. Earlier this week, they did sign veteran T Eric Fisher, who was a Pro Bowl player with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Overall, there aren’t much in the way of injury concerns popping up across the Dolphins roster. The only other starter with an injury designation is TE Durham Smythe (quadricep/knee). He’s listed as questionable.

Backup QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) and DT Justin Zimmer (back) are also carrying the injury designation of questionable. Second-string WR River Cracraft is doubtful. He suffered a knee injury at practice on Thursday. Backup CB Byron Jones (Achilles) is out.

Nine Miami players who populated the injury report earlier in the week are no longer carrying an injury designation next to their names. Included in this group are QB Tua Tagovailoa (ankle) and WR Hill and Jaylen Waddle (fibula).

Los Angeles Chargers Injury Report

Of concern for Los Angeles in the Dolphins vs Chargers picks would be the potential absence of James.  He’s leading the team in tackles (106) and is second in tackles for loss (five). James has forced two fumbles, has five QB hits and picked off a pass.

Joseph-Day also has accounted for five tackles for loss and seven QB hits, so his potential absence would also leave a vital hole to be filled along the LA defensive front.

On offense, starting RT Trey Pipkins III is doubtful due to a knee injury. Backup CB Bryce Callahan (abdomen) is also doubtful to be playing.

How Could Injuries Affect Dolphins vs Chargers Lines?

Not since Week 1 of the NFL season has Chargers QB Justin Herbert been blessed with the health of all of his offensive weapons.  WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Williams (ankle) have both missed significant time. Only RB Austin Ekeler has been able to avoid injury issues.

As well, Herbert suffered fractured rib cartilage earlier this season. But now with so much talent at his disposal, Herbert’s passing overs just might be worth a look in the Dolphins vs Chargers player props.

There’s real concern for the Chargers in terms of depth along the defensive front. Both of Day’s backups, Christian Covington and Otito Ogbonnia, are on injured reserve. Also on IR are NT Austin Johnson and Forrest Merrill and WLB Joey Bosa.

Should Smythe be limited for the Dolphins, backup TE Hunter Long could see his first game action since November 6 against the Chicago Bears. Bridgewater hasn’t been active the past three games, leaving Skylar Thompson to back up Tagovailoa.
