  • There are a number of touchdown-related Super Bowl props available for wagering
  • Who will score the first TD of the game? Which player or players can you count on to find the end zone?
  • All of the best Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl TD props are listed below

As sure as there are endless props to wager on regarding the 2022 Super Bowl, there will be touchdowns scored in the game. In 55 previous big games, only two teams have failed to find the end zone.

Unfortunately, one of those teams was one of this year’s participants, the Los Angeles Rams. They lost the 2019 Super Bowl 13-3 to the New England Patriots. The Miami Dolphins, 24-3 losers to the Dallas Cowboys in the 1972 Super Bowl, were the other club to go without a TD.

Other trends of late – the team that ultimately won the game has scored the first TD in each of the past four Super Bowls.

Cooper Kupp of the Rams led all NFL wide receivers with 16 TD receptions this season. Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase was third in the league and led all rookies with 13 TD catches. Kupp and Cincinnati running back Joe Mixon tied for third overall among NFL players, each with 16 TDs.

The Rams are 4-point favorites in the Super Bowl odds. In the NFL public money splits, the spread is showing the underdog Bengals drawing significant action on the moneyline.

When it comes to player props and touchdown scorers, three times this season, Kupp has scored the first TD of the game for the Rams. That’s including last week’s NFC Championship Game. At odds of +390 to score the first TD in the Super Bowl, Kupp would return a payout of $490 on a $100 bet if he were to score the game’s initial TD. At that betting line, he’s offering an implied probability of 20.41% to do so.

For the Bengals, both Mixon and Chase are set at +625 to be the first TD scorer of the Super Bowl. That’s an implied probability of 13.79%. Bet $20 on either player and if they succeed, it will return $145 to your wallet. Play Mixon to score a TD anytime in the game at odds of +108 and you’d garner a return on investment of $104 on a $50 wager. There’s an IP of 48.08% on Mixon scoring a TD, so it’s almost a 50-50 proposition.

Bengals Touchdown Stats

In Mixon and Chase, the Bengals have a double threat to find the end zone – on the ground with Mixon and through the air with Chase. Both have found the end zone in double-digit numbers this season.

All 13 of Chase’s TDs have been on the receiving end of TD aerials. Mixon has run for 13 TDs and also caught three TD passes in the regular season.

It’s important to remember with a TD prop that only the player who scores the TD counts. Touchdown passes do not enter into the equation.

Cincinnati Bengals TD Totals

Player TDs
Joe Mixon 17
Ja’Marr Chase 14
Tee Higgins 13
Tyler Boyd 6
CJ Ozumah 6
Samaje Perine 3
Chris Evans 2
Joe Burrow 2
Trayvon Henderson 1
Mike Hilton 1
Auden Tate 1

Cincinnati has scored five TDs in the postseason but no player has found the end zone more than one time. Receiver CJ Uzomah, in the Bengals’ AFC Wild Card win over the Las Vegas Raiders, is the only Cincinnati player to score the first TD of the game during their playoff run.

Bengals who’ve scored the game’s first TD this season:

  • CJ Uzomah 2
  • Tyler Boyd
  • Joe Burrow
  • Chris Evans
  • Joe Mixon
  • Samaje Perine

In fact, the Bengals have scored the game’s initial TD just once over the past nine games. Uzomah, with two, is the only Cincinnati player to score the game’s first TD on more than one occasion.

Rams Touchdown Stats

Picking up where he left off after leading the NFL in regular-season TD receptions, Kupp has added four more TDs through three postseason games. He’s found the end zone in all three Rams playoff games.

The Rams don’t have a TD from a running back in any of the past four games. Recently returned from an Achilles injury, Cam Akers is still seeking his first TD of the season.

Los Angeles Rams TD Totals

Player TDs
Cooper Kupp 20
Darrell Henderson 8
Van Jefferson 6
Odell Beckham Jr 6
Robert Woods 5
Tyler Higbee 5
Sony Michel 5
Matthew Stafford 2
Kendall Blanton 1
DeSean Jackson 1
Brandon Powell 1
David Long 1

Darrell Henderson scored eight TDs for the Rams during the regular season. However, he’s on IR with an MCL sprain in his right knee that he suffered in Week 16 at Minnesota. Henderson has been eligible to return to the lineup since January 21 but hasn’t been activated.

Receiver DeSean Jackson, one of the Rams’ TD scorers this season, is no longer on their roster. He finished the season with the Raiders.

LA does suit up a player who scored the first TD of a Super Bowl game – and he did so against the Rams. Running back Sony Michel scored the only TD for the Patriots in that 13-3 win over the Rams in the 2019 big game.

Michel is among eight Rams who’ve scored the first TD of a game this season:

  • Cooper Kupp 3
  • Odell Beckham Jr 2
  • Tyler Higbee 2
  • Sony Michel 2
  • Kendall Blanton
  • Darrell Henderson
  • Van Jefferson
  • Robert Woods

Super Bowl Touchdown Picks

The Rams were 3.5-point picks in the opening Rams vs Bengals odds, while LA quarterback Matthew Stafford is the chalk in the Super Bowl MVP odds.

There’s been an interesting development regarding Stafford during the postseason. He didn’t score a single TD during 17 regular-season games. However, he’s broken the plane for TDs twice in three postseason games. At +300, Stafford offers intriguing value for an anytime Super Bowl TD.

Kupp, though, is where the smart money should be going in terms of Rams TD scoring. He’s found the end zone in five straight games and 10 times through the past 11 games. Twice in that span and three times this season, he’s scored the game’s first TD.

At +390 to score the opening TD and -185 for an anytime TD, both are worthy plays on Kupp for NFL Super Bowl player props. The Rams, by the way, have scored the first TD in four straight games.

The Bengals are a tougher call when it comes to TD scorers. Their top two producers are slumping. Chase has four TDs over his past seven games but three of those came in one game. Mixon has one TD in the past five games.

Cincinnati receiver Tyler Boyd has two TDs over the past five games. He’s offering value at DraftKings at +275 for an anytime TD.
