Seahawks Flatten 49ers

The Seahawks were coming off their first loss of the season and while some people felt they were vulnerable to lose a second straight, that was never much of a reality on Sunday. The Seahawks smoked the 49ers by a final score of 37-27 in a game where they led 30-7 to start the fourth quarter.

While the offense was cooking once again, the Seahawks defense was the surprise. They contained the 49ers most of the day, compiling three sacks and forcing two turnovers. Jimmy Garoppolo was knocked out of the game but was just 11-of-16 for 84 yards, no touchdowns and an interception before leaving.

All in all, it was a very impressive performance by the Seahawks, who reasserted themselves as the team to beat in the NFC West.

Bills Eke Out Win Versus Patriots

The Bills had lost seven in a row to the New England Patriots, so ending that streak is all they care about, but the win wasn’t pretty. The general perception was that the Patriots were in decline and that the Bills were the new top dog in the AFC East, but it didn’t look that way on Sunday. While the Bills never trailed, they were still lucky to earn the win.

The held a slim 24-21 lead as the game came down the stretch but the Patriots drove the ball to the Bills 19-yard line. At the very least, they should have tied the game with a field goal or had a shot to win it. Instead, Cam Newton fumbled and that ended the Patriots hopes.

The Bills should be concerned with the play of quarterback Josh Allen. The player who had 12 touchdowns and just one interception in his first four games has been nowhere to be found over the last month. In his last four games, Allen has just four touchdown passes with four interceptions. He’s also thrown for 154 yards or less in two of his last three games.

The Bills offense averaged 30.8 points per game in their first four contests but they’re down to 18.8 over their last four. They need to figure out what’s wrong with Allen and get him back on track.

Which Way Will The Line Move?

Expect the betting line in this Seahawks-Bills matchup to shift towards the Seahawks. They’re coming in riding high while there is an air of skepticism around the Bills right now. That’s likely to attract action on Russell Wilson and company as we move throughout the week.
