The other pleasant surprise is the play of QB Brock Purdy. Since taking over following an injury to Jimmy Garoppolo, Purdy is 5-0. He’s thrown for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. He may even be making a late run in the NFL OROY balloting.

More recently, and with NFL OROY favorite Kenneth Walker III firing on all cylinders, Seattle ran for 70 yards on 14 carries. That was during a 21-13 Week 15 victory for San Francisco.

Overall, that works out to 3.78 yards per carry. Walker was 12 carries for 47 yards in that game, or 3.92 yards per carry. Walker’s gone for 100+ yards in three straight games. He’ll be hard-pressed to get to four.

Seattle Hurting at RB with Walker and Dallas Injuries

Another issue with the Seattle run game is that the club is banged up at the position. Both Walker (ankle) and backup DeeJay Dallas (ankle) are hurting, although Walker’s injury designation was removed on Friday. Dallas is listed as questionable but is expected to play. Rashaad Penny is on IR.

On defense, the Seahawks are showing LDE Shelby Harris (knee) as questionable.

There are five 49ers starters who are listed as questionable for this game. McCaffrey (ankle) and left guard Aaron Banks (ankle) are the offensive starters with a questionable designation.

Defensively, both starting DTs – Arik Armstead (foot) and Javon Kinlaw (knee) – are questionable, as is WLB Dre Greenlaw (back).
