  • Will there be a safety during Super Bowl 57? What about an octopus or scorigami?
  • Which cross-sport props should you consider betting?
  • These are just a few examples of the exotic and novelty props available to be wagered on in the big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs

There’s no shortage of wagers to be played on Super Bowl Sunday, and some of those plays would certainly fall into the categories of exotic and even novelty prop wagers.

Will there be a safety in Super Bowl 57 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs? How about a scorigami, which would be a final score never before achieved in an NFL game? If you think either of these could happen, well, there’s good news, because you can make that bet.

Call them novelty props, or exotic props, but what they aren’t are your common Super Bowl prop bets. These prop bets for the Super are mostly fun Super Bowl prop bets and all of the top USA betting sites offer variations of these unique wagers.

Some, but not all of these wagers are Super Bowl player prop bets. There are cross-sport prop plays. For example, which will be higher – the rushing yards gained by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, or the combined points, rebounds and assists by NBA all-time scoring leader LeBron James in his game against the Portland Trail Blazers?

If you’re really into oddball wagers on the big game, have a look at some of the weirdest Super Bowl bets.

Bet Morant To Lend A Helping Hand

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant would be a wonderful neighbor, because he’s always ready to lend a helping hand. Over his last 11 games, he’s dished out at least seven assists in every one of them.

Morant has only gone as low as seven assists in two of those 11 games. At the same time, he’s given out 10+ apples in five games.

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is the top receiving tight end in the NFL. He caught 110 passes during the regular season and 12 of them went for touchdowns. During the NFL postseason, he’s pulled in 21 aerials and scored three times.

That being said, he’s nowhere as efficient at pulling in passes as Morant is as doling out the assists. In his last six games, Kelce has gone for at least 6+ receptions in each game. Twice he’s gone over double digits, including a 14-catch performance in the AFC Divisional Round against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As impressive as that is, on average, Morant is simply the better bet here.

Pick: Ja Morant assists (-235).

Eagles’ Hurts Rushing to Success

On the surface, this one might seem like a no-brainer. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is a rebound machine. He is chairman of the boards.

Over the past seven games, Embiid was pulling down double digits in rebounds on six occasions. However, in Philadelphia’s last game, Embiid was limited to seven boards. He’s been nursing a nagging foot ailment. With tough weekend games against the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, it’s just possible that the 76ers might give Embiid a lesser workload on Monday facing the woeful Houston Rockets.

Meanwhile, Eagles QB Hurts is churning up the ground. He’s carried the ball 46 times over his last four games. That works out to 11.5 carries per game.

Take the price here and roll the dice on carries by Hurts.

Pick: Jalen Hurt rush attempts (+100).

Go High On First Touchdown Scorer

That the line on this Super Bowl game prop is favoring a number under 11.5 is interesting. Oddsmakers seem to be putting a lot of eggs into the Hurts (#1) TD run being the opening play in terms of TDs. Or perhaps they’re anticipating a first TD from surprising Kansas City rookie running back Isiah Pacheco (#10).

In any case, the betting trends aren’t supporting this philosophy. In Philadelphia’s two playoff games, Dallas Goedert (#88) and Sanders (#26) found the end zone first. For the Chiefs, it was Kelce (#87) in both games.

Take the price and the over.

Pick: Over 11.5 (+105).

In Super Bowl It’s Safety First

During the 2022 NFL regular season, there were 13 safeties recorded in 270 games. That works out to one safety every 20.76 games.

However, in the Super Bowl, there’s been nine safeties recorded in 56 games. That translates into one safety every 5.86 games.

Why are there more safeties in the big game? Who knows? But why not roll with the trend and go for a big score?

Pick: Yes there will be a safety (+1000).

Count On Nick Being Quick With The Red Flag

Over the past seven Super Bowl games, four coaches have opted to toss the red flag and challenge a call made on the field. In each case, the coach making the challenge was coaching in his first Super Bowl.

Andy Reid has coached three Super Bowl games and never thrown his red flag to challenge a play. So that leaves us with Philadelphia’s Nick Sirianni, who’s coaching in his first Super Bowl game.

Pick: Eagles Nick Sirianni with the first coach’s challenge (+100).
