Some Notable Movement We’ve Seen With This Prop

There’s been plenty of movement with these props as bettors make their decisions. We’ve seen guys like A.J. Epenesa and Laviska Shenault’s odds suggest they aren’t going in the first round. Epenesa was -240 for ‘Yes’ but is now at -165 while Shenault was at -300 on ‘No’ (not to go in first round) and is now up to -500.

One of the biggest moves that we’ve seen has been cornerback A.J. Terrell. He was previously a +115 underdog to make the cut for the first round but now he’s all the way up to -270 for ‘Yes’. It looks like there’s a lot of sharp money that’s come in on him as he’s expected to be among the Top 32.

Denzel Mims to Go in First Round

There’s been a lot of hype over the last little while that teams view Baylor wideout Denzel Mims as a first-round pick. We’ve seen a huge shift in his lines as he was at +140 to go in the first round about a month ago but now he’s a -140 favorite to make the Top 32.

Taking a look at a mock draft aggregator, Mims has been averaging No. 22 in most mock drafts. I think that’s about right as we should see a run on wide receivers in that range as the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings (twice), New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints pick from 21-25. They all need receivers.

Can Brandon Aiyuk Sneak Into First Round?

I’m going to keep this fairly quick as the logic is mostly the same as Mims: I just see a lot of teams that need wide receivers and he’s a player that many teams seem to like. We’re going to see three wide receivers probably go in the teens and then the Philadelphia Eagles should be drafting one too at No. 21.

Sure, this is a deep class of wide receivers but sometimes these things start to snowball when a run begins. I’m expecting Aiyuk to hear his name called in the first round.

D’Andre Swift Not to Make Top 32

It seems like many mock drafts have D’Andre Swift going to the Miami Dolphins at No. 26 but this is one spot where I disagree with the mock drafts. The Dolphins signed Jordan Howard in the offseason and still have Kalen Ballage, Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird on the roster. While none of those players are particularly great, there’s no need to reach for Swift.

The Dolphins still need help at many positions and even if they miss out on Swift at No. 26, they’ll get either him or someone else at No. 39 – if they want. The challenge here is if the Dolphins don’t take Swift, who will? It won’t be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 14. Running backs are a cheap commodity. Bet on Swift to fall out of the first round.
