Welcome to the slaughterhouse.

Soldier Field proved to be a house of horrors for both the Rams and yours truly.

Yes, there are two games all year where the Bears didn’t score or allow a touchdown for an opening score, and they happen to be the games I’ve predicted a TD to open the scoring. Joy.

Better yet, Jared Goff looked rattled, while Todd Gurley was a total non-factor, and it’s beginning to turn into a trending storyline down the home stretch of the season.

There’s only one thing I can say.

But here’s a chance for redemption as we’ve got the Rams on tap again on Sunday night, and they’re primed for a breakthrough against the visiting Eagles.

Prop #1: There will be more than 2 TDs Scored

Rams / Eagles Total Touchdowns Odds 1
Over 1.5 TD -105
Under 1.5 TD -125

Call this one easy money.

Between the two teams, there’s only been one game all season where there have been less than two majors scored in a game – and that was last week’s Rams’ out-of-body experience against the very impressive Bears defense.

After posting just six points last week, Los Angeles is still third in the NFL in scoring at 32.7 points a game.

And even with Nick Foles in for an injured Carson Wentz for the rest of the year, his two starts generated more than 1.5 TDs.

Prop #2: Goff Will Bounce Back

Will Goff Throw for At Least 329 Yards? Odds 2
Yes +110

Maybe it’s as simple as Goff getting back to the friendly confines of the Coliseum (the tweet below excludes the Bears loss).

In six home games, Goff has failed to eclipse 300 yards passing once, and he just missed it by five yards. More than that, though, this is the sort of game that franchise QBs really rise up for.

He was overmatched in last week’s loss, looking more like first-year QB bust Goff than potential MVP candidate, maestro of one of the best offenses in the NFL Goff.

He should get back to his dominant self against an Eagles defense that has surrendered the third most passing yards per game (277.4) in the NFL.

Prop #3: Todd Gurley Will Find the Endzone

Will Todd Gurley Rush For at Least One  TD Odds 2
Yes -200

Rams head coach Sean McVay has been lauded as perhaps the premier offensive mind in football, but some questions have surfaced about the recent play-calling, particularly with the yo-yo usage of Gurley.

This is despite the fact Gurley is still having another outstanding season.

Last week’s 11 carries were the lowest of his season. Two weeks prior to that, he had 12 totes, and two weeks before that, he’s had 13.

The great misconception about the Rams high-octane offense is that they’re quick-strike and popping the top off defenses, when in fact they have only three scores of 50+ yards all year.

Their catalyst has and always will be Gurley, and establishing him again will be the key for the Rams to get back on track.

He’s been kept out of the endzone twice in his last three games via run or pass – the only times that has happened this season. Expect him to break through.
