The Kraken had the defending champs on the ropes in Game 2 with a chance to take a 2-0 series lead back to Seattle. Unfortunately for them, they let the Avalanche up.
Colorado erased a 2-0 deficit in Game 2 en route to a 3-2 victory. That squared the series at one game a piece, and online sportsbooks are expecting the Avs to carry the momentum on to Game 3. Colorado opened up as the favorite in Saturday’s NHL odds, which will mark the first home playoff game in Kraken history.
Avalanche vs Kraken Game 3 Odds
Team | Puck Line | Total | Moneyline |

Colorado Avalanche | -1.5 (+170) | -155 | O 6 (-105) |
Seattle Kraken | +1.5 (-200) | +135 | U 6 (-115) |
The Avalanche are currently -155 moneyline favorites, in a contest with a total of 6. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 pm ET at the Climate Pledge Arena, in Seattle, WA, with TBS providing the broadcast coverage.

Kraken vs Avalanche Betting Splits
As far as the action in the NHL public betting trends is concerned, the Game 3 lines are not high enough. 74% of the moneyline wagers so far are backing Colorado, as is 88% of the puck line handle.
Both of the series first two games came in under the total, but that isn’t deterring the majority of betters from wagering on over 6 goals for this contest. That side of the total is currently garnering 62% of the over/under tickets, but those wagers make up only 52% of the total handle.
Kraken vs Avalanche Injury Report
Colorado has been hit hard by the injury bug all season, and the Avs could be minus a handful of key playes again in Game 3. Captain Gabriel Landeskog (knee) is already lost for the season, while Jack Johnson, Andrew Cogliano and Lars Eller are all day-to-day.
Jared Bednar said Lars Eller is hurting after going into the boards last night. Bednar doesn’t know whether he could miss Game 3, but all injuries players plus Gabriel Landeskog will be going on the trip.

Neither Johnson or Cogliano suited up for Games 1 or 2, while Eller suffered an upper body injury in Game 2 after crashing hard into the boards in the final period.
Kraken vs Avalanche Betting Stats
Seattle’s keys to the series so far have been quick starts, and fantastic goaltending. The Kraken have scored first in both contests, building multi-goal leads in each tilt.
Former Avs goalie Philipp Grubauer has stood on his head, stopping 72 of 76 shots, while helping shutout the high powered Avalanche on the powerplay.
After building an early two-goal lead in Game 2, it looked like the Kraken were destined to take a series stranglehold. Colorado had other ideas over the final two periods, tying the game with goals 48 seconds apart in the second frame, before notching the game-winner in the final period.
Two goals. 48 seconds.

Alexandar Georgiev has been solid in between the Avs pipes, stopping 54 of 59 pucks. That’s a continuation of his stellar regular season, where he helped Colorado to a top-nine goal against mark.
The big surprise has been the lack of offense produced by Colorado’s top stars. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, who both eclipsed the 40 goal and 100 point plateaus this season, have combined for just one goal and two assists.
Cale Makar, last year’s playoff MVP, has just a single assist, and the Avs simply can’t expect to achieve much success if those three stars aren’t piling up points.

Kraken vs Avalanche Predictions
Despite the underwhelming playoff start by Colorado and its stars, the Avs still boast the second shortest Stanley Cup odds behind the Bruins.
Avalanche vs Kraken Series Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Colorado Avalanche | -280 |
Seattle Kraken | +220 |
They’re a -280 favorite to advance to Round 2 of the NHL playoff bracket, and the advanced stats suggest they’ve been the better team so far.
Colorado has spent more time in the offensive zone than its opponent and has a higher expected goals for mark, and a lower expected goals against number. They’ve produced eight more high danger scoring chances than Seattle, and it’s only a matter of time before MacKinnon and Rantanen get on track.
Avalanche vs Kraken Game 3 Same-Game Parlay
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Colorado Avalanche Moneyline | -155 |
Colorado Avalanche Over 2.5 Goals | -210 |
Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer | -110 |
Same-Game Parlay Odds | +160 |
Bettors should expect some positive regression for MacKinnon in the goal department in Game 3. He’s fired 15 pucks on net through two games, but has yet to light the lamp. That simply won’t last long, as his high shooting volume is no fluke.
He’s recorded at least seven shots in five of his past six games, and seven times overall this month. You can’t keep giving a 42-goal player that many chances and expect him to stay scoreless.
Pick: Same-Game Parlay (+160)
