New York heads to the City Of Brotherly Love to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night.

Can the New York Rangers defeat their division rivals and gain an all-important two points?

Let’s look at the Rangers vs Flyers odds and offer you our top NHL pick for Wednesday night’s contest.

Rangers vs Flyers Odds

Team Puck Line Total Moneyline
New York Rangers -1.5 (+125) O 6.5 (-110) -200
Philadelphia Flyers +1.5 (-150) U 6.5 (+110) +165

New York comes in hot at -200 on the moneyline while Philadelphia lengthens to +165 . Game totals slid down to 6.0 goals from 6.5 at the opening.

Stanley Cup odds are interesting, as New York now is lowering to around +1000 depending on the site. Now, the reason for that quick drop involves the trade for Patrick Kane from the Chicago Blackhawks. No, that is not a misprint. Kane is a member of the New York Rangers.

Showtime is indeed coming to Gotham, err … Madison Square Garden.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm ET at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The game is broadcasted on TNT.

Kane A Game Changer For Rangers

New York begins a stretch where they play three games in four nights. After four nights off, they will do it again the following week. It shapes up to be quite the dash to the playoffs. So, naturally, the Rangers upped the ante with this Kane acquisition.

With the move, the Rangers become one of what feels like six favorites in the Eastern Conference. This expects to be their final trade for the deadline.

Will Artemi Panarin and Kane play together all the time? Will it only be on the power play? Gerard Gallant answers that ultimately. Either way, the Rangers, along with the Vladimir Tarasenko trade, strengthened their wings and added a dose of potency to their offense.

Igor Shesterkin stopped 26 of 28 shots in a 5-2 win on Sunday versus Los Angeles. Getting Shesterkin playing consistently well is paramount to any deep postseason run. He had yielded four or more goals in his previous four starts. The 2022 Vezina winner has seen his odds take a hit this season.

Flyers Selling Helps Little

The Philadelphia Flyers said they are selling early this week. Now, that much was obvious for a long while. So, who may or may not be in the lineup on Wednesday night is a huge question.

The Flyers, lately, do not match up well against the Rangers. Mika Zibanejad and his line hurt the Philadelphia defense early and often.  Philadelphia won just one of the previous seven games against their Metropolitan Division rivals.

The Flyers possess some dangerous weapons offensively, but injuries have dampened their abilities. Cam Atkinson, Sean Couturier, and Travis Konecny all are missing from the lineup which ranks 28th in the league in goals (162).

Worse, Carter Hart finally cracked as he has four straight starts posting an .850 or worse save percentage (16 goals allowed). Add in a team with the league-worst power play (15.6%) and a sub-par penalty kill (76%).

This team battles, but coaching and minimum talent only go so far.

Rangers vs Flyers Prediction

The Flyers are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games, including an embarrassing loss on Saturday in Newark. This game gets TNT exposure and helps even with Kane not in the mix yet. Expect the Rangers to come out with a burst of adrenaline while Philadelphia tries to mount some pride.

Rangers vs Flyers Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
New York Puckline +125
Under 6.0 Goals -110
PARLAY ODDS  +330

The game looks to be entertaining, but the Rangers want to make a statement. Philadelphia will want to make for a good showing on Wednesday night.

New York’s top-six and power-play are extremely dangerous even without the star winger. Philadelphia’s early play may be something the Rangers take advantage of. Expect New York and Igor Shesterkin to cover in front of a national audience.

Pick: New York -1.5 goals (+125)
