  • A variety of prop wagers on this week’s Democratic Primary Debates have been offered

Thanks to this week’s Democratic Primary Debates, the race for the 2020 Democratic Presidential nomination is about to get real.

Sportsbooks are out with a series of prop wagers on specific outcomes during Wednesday’s and Thursday’s sessions with the top 20 Democratic contenders.

Number of Times Donald Trump’s Name Will Be Said During the Democratic Primary Debates

Total Trump Mentions During Democratic Primary Debates Odds
Over 20.5 -120
Under 20.5 -120

Talking About Trump

As much as people may be growing weary of Donald Trump dominating the conversation in a seemingly endless loop, the candidates can’t help but talk about the President. He’s the guy one of them will ultimately be seeking to unseat, after all.

When it comes to Trump mentions, 20.5 seems an awfully low total. They should usurp that number on the first night of debating.

Trump gives them so much ammunition to work with, they just can’t help themselves.

Pick: Over 20.5 (-120)

Number of Times the Word “Impeach” is Said During the Democratic Primary Debates

Total Mentions of Word “Impeach” During Democratic Primary Debates Odds
Over 2.5 -120
Under 2.5 -120

To Impeach, or Not to Impeach?

That is the question many Democrats already appear to be debating. Certainly, the evidence is there that Trump is guilty of impeachable offenses.

But the Democrats know even if they pass the Articles of Impeachment, the Republican-controlled Senate is in Trump’s pocket and would never vote to convict the President.

Nonetheless, impeachment remains a hot-button issue with the general public. It must be discussed, and it will be discussed. We should get a better understanding of where the candidates stand on this issue by the end of these debates.

Pick: Over 2.5 (-120)

Number of Times Joe Biden is Mentioned During Wednesday’s Democratic Primary Debates

Total Biden Mentions During Wednesday’s Democratic Primary Debate Odds
Over 2.5 +300
Under 2.5 -500

Not Your Average Joe

Democratic front runner Joe Biden will be part of Thursday’s debate. The two days are divided into 10 candidates on each night. Yet you know he will be front and center on Wednesday as well.

Just as Trump is the guy one of them must eventually beat, Biden is king of the castle for the moment. He is the +175 chalk to earn the 2020 Democratic Presidential nomination. You can even bet how many times Trump will tweet “Sleepy Joe” during the debate.

As Ric Flair would say, if you want to be the best, you must beat the best. The odds say that right now, Biden is the best. The others must look to get their best shots in on him and seek to bring him down a few pegs.

Pick: Over 2.5 (+300)

Number of Times Andrew Yang Mentions UBI During Democratic Primary Debates

Total Yang UBI Mentions During Democratic Primary Debates Odds
Over 1.5 +100
Under 1.5 -140

Yang’s Pet Project

How many times have you gone to a meeting and bored everyone else… er, proudly spoke of your children’s accomplishments. Well, UBI – Universal Basic Income – is Andrew Yang’s baby.

It’s the backbone of his campaign. You know he’ll be touting it incessantly.

He might not get to UBI 40, but the number of times he mentions it will be up there.

Pick: Over 1.5 (+100)

Will Any Candidate Apologize During the Democratic Primary Debates?

Will Any Candidate Apologize During Democratic Primary Debates? Odds
Yes +500
No -1000

Who’s Sorry

Logically, apologizing during a political debate would be viewed as a sign of weakness. You wouldn’t expect it to happen.

On the other hand, these are Democrats. Apologizing is what they do most.

Pick: Yes (+500)

Will Any Candidate Resign Following the Democratic Primary Debates?

Will Any Candidate Resign Following Democratic Primary Debates Odds
Yes +1000
No -2500

Going, Going, Gone?

Clearly, with more than two dozen candidates, a culling among pursuers of the Democratic Presidential nomination is necessary. And the sooner, the better.

It isn’t going to happen after the debates, however. Everyone figures to stick around at least until the first Primary. Then they will start dropping like flies.

Pick: No (-2500)
