After four years of a reality-television star sitting in the White House, driving deep divisions through the country, you’d think that the American voters would’ve had their fill of celebrity Presidential candidates.
US President Donald Trump will be out of the White House on Wednesday, yet the cult of celebrity that grips so many Americans means that other public figures from the entertainment and business world are being assigned betting lines in the 2024 election odds.
Former professional wrestler and current actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is given the shortest odds among the celebrities of any of these supposed Presidential candidates. He’s listed at +2800.

The Rock Is Thinking About Running
A pro wrestler being elected to office isn’t beyond the pale. Former WWE star Jesse Ventura ran and won the Governor’s race in Minnesota, serving from 1999-2003.
Johnson has acknowledged his interest in running for President in the past. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility in 2024, 2028, or even 2032.

Appearing on The Late Show with Steven Colbert, Johnson admitted that the though of running for the Oval Office intrigued him. However, he also realized there was much experience he needed to gain, and policy he must better understand before he could seriously entertain a run for President.
Funny, but the current occupant of the White House didn’t see the need to learn such nuance.
Could Johnson make hay as a Presidential candidate? Probably, When you get right down to brass tacks, though, it’s a heck of a lot easier just to go and film another Fast And Furious remake.
Oprah’s Not Interested
Former talk show host Oprah Winfrey certainly has the power and the gravitas to make a run for the Presidency. What she lacks is the desire to do so.

Despite persistent prodding to run from her bestie CBS The Morning co-host Gayle King, Winfrey insists she wants nothing to do with life in the fishbowl of the Oval Office.
“I don’t want to run,” Winfrey said during a 2018 appearance to campaign for Georgia Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.” I am not trying to test any waters, don’t want to go in those waters.”
Curiously, she’s given the same betting odds to win in 2024 as past actual Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney.
It’s All Just Silly Talk
Amazon founder Bezos definitely possesses the finances and the digital savvy to make a run for the Presidency. However, he’s notoriously media shy. That doesn’t mesh well with a run for office.
West garnered fewer than 60,000 votes in his 2020 run at the White House. He hinted on social media about another try shortly after the 2020 election, but interestingly, he’s since deleted that tweet.

Portnoy is the man behind Barstool Sports, which certainly appeals to a crowd of a similar ilk to Trump supporters. He insists he’ll never run for President, though.
