The 2026 World Cup group stage marches on this Monday, June 15, with a compelling four-match slate. The schedule provides bettors with a diverse mix of overwhelming favorites, intriguing underdog spots, and low-event totals. The action begins at 12:00 pm ET with Spain vs Cape Verde and wraps up at 6:00 pm ET with Iran vs New Zealand. Between those bookends, Belgium tangles with a dangerous Egyptian side (3:00 pm ET) and Uruguay faces Saudi Arabia as a heavy favorite (6:00 pm ET).

I ran all four games through Sportradar’s proprietary A.I. prediction model, which generated one best bet for each of the four matches. Those four picks are summarized in the table below. After the table, I have set out the A.I.’s explanation for each wager. The computer is 5-4 on its first nine picks of the tournament. A one-unit wager on every pick would yield a +1.41-unit profit to date.

The computer likes Spain to score at least three goals, Egypt to score at least one, Darwin Nunez to tally for Uruguay, and the under at a short price in Iran vs New Zealand.

Spain (+450) remains the outright favorite in the World Cup winner odds after four days of play with France (+488) and England (+700) rounding out the top three.

Spain vs Cape Verde Pick: Spain Team Total Over 2.5 Goals (62¢ at Kalshi)

Kalshi
Spain Over 2.5 Goals
62%

A.I. justification:

Spain winning at 91¢ is too expensive for a best-bet slot, and Spain -2.5 at 51¢ requires the favorite to win by at least three. The cleaner derivative is Spain over 2.5 team goals at 62¢. It still captures the talent gap without needing Cape Verde to be completely shut out.

Spain’s possession edge, wide chance creation and depth in attacking midfield point toward sustained box entries. Cape Verde can defend in a low block, but if Spain scores first, the match state should force more space. The model prefers paying for Spain’s goal volume rather than laying a massive moneyline price.

Belgium vs Egypt Pick: Egypt Team Total Over 0.5 Goals -138 (58¢ at Kalshi)

Kalshi
Egypt Over 0.5 Goals
58%

A.I. justification:

Belgium at 61¢ is fair, but it is not the most interesting price on this board. Egypt over 0.5 goals at 58¢ gives access to Mohamed Salah-led transition upside without asking Egypt to win the match. Belgium can still be the better side and concede once.

The matchup profile supports both teams finding chances: Belgium should control longer possession phases, while Egypt’s best route is direct attacking after turnovers. With Salah priced at 24¢ to score and Omar Marmoush adding another transition threat, Egypt’s team total is stronger value than a Belgium moneyline bet.

Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay Prediction: Darwin Nunez 1+ Goal +163 (38¢ at Kalshi)

Kalshi
Darwin Nunez 1+ Goal
38%

A.I. justification:

Uruguay is the superior side, but the 68¢ win price already reflects that. Darwin Nunez at 38¢ to score 1+ goal is the more attractive upside bet. It aligns with Uruguay’s attacking projection while avoiding the draw risk attached to the moneyline.

Saudi Arabia allowed Uruguay to generate a clear shot edge in their 2018 meeting, and this matchup again sets up for Uruguay to create the higher-value chances. If Marcelo Bielsa’s team presses aggressively and wins the ball in advanced areas, Nunez is the most direct beneficiary. At 38¢, the anytime-goal price is the preferred way to express the Uruguay edge.

Iran vs New Zealand Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals (62¢ at Kalshi)

Prediction Markets
Iran vs New Zealand Pick
Learn more about Prediction Markets
Kalshi
Under 2.5 Goals
62%

A.I. justification:

The best angle in Iran vs New Zealand is under 2.5 goals at -163. The matchup grades as slower and more controlled than the other games on the slate. New Zealand’s clearest path is through aerial service, and Iran’s defensive structure is well suited to limit those looks.

With Iran projected to control possession and reduce transition volume, the model prefers a lower-event script over chasing the favorite moneyline. A 1-0 or 2-0 Iran result fits the median projection, making under 2.5 goals the more varied and defensible best bet.
