Club America reached this semifinal after an aggregate 4-3 win over Puebla in their quarterfinal. They managed a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Puebla but got the job done in spectacular fashion on their home patch just three days later. In a tight first half, it was Club who struck first through Martín’s twice-taken penalty on 43-minutes but the visitors’ managed an equalizer before half-time through Reyes’ overhead kick.

Dramatic Night in Pachuca
Pachuca ended the regular-season campaign at the top of the Liga MX table and so have more than earned their semi-final place, which they secured thanks to a thrilling 5-4 aggregate quarterfinal win over Atletico San Luis.
