In the last quarterfinal of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, England faces Colombia, who are the lowest ranked side still in the field. Get the most current England vs Colombia odds and predictions in our post below.

While the Lionesses have cruised to a 3-1-0 record, Colombia will not be easy opponents. For starters, Lauren James will be serving the first leg of her two-match suspension after a stamp against Nigeria’s Michelle Alozie. The Chelsea attacker has been one of the bright spots for Sarina Wiegman’s team and her absence could force a change in the lineup and formation.

Colombia deserves their respect too, being one of the standout stories at this Women’s World Cup. Their defense, anchored by Daniela Arias and Jorelyn Carabali is top class and they have prolific attackers in Linda Caicedo and Catalina Usme. Las Chicas Superpoderosas might not have been the team people favored before the tournament, but wins against South Korea, Germany and Jamaica have turned a lot of heads in their favor.

England vs Colombia Odds

Team Moneyline Odds To Advance Odds
England -205 -425
Colombia +600 +300
Draw +275 N/A

All in all, England is the significant favorite in this quarterfinal, with moneyline odds of -205. This equates to an implied win probability of 67.2%. The Lionesses have already beaten higher ranked opponents like Denmark and China at this World Cup, and managed to sneak by a frugal Nigeria defense. Thus, they are battled tested and well prepared to take on a Colombia side who sits at 25th in the world standings. Moreover, England still have the best futures odds to win the tournament at +275, narrowly in front of Spain at +300.

England vs Colombia Over/Under Odds

On the goal front, England vs Colombia is expected to stay quite tame, as the under on 2.5 total goals currently sits at -195. This play has hit in over 57% of all Women’s World Cup matches so far, and in 75% of England and Colombia’s combined eight matches. These teams have also conceded a combined 3.9 goals less than expected, conveying their defensive prowess.

It is also worth noting that despite being one of the best teams in the world, England are not overly fluent in goal scoring at the minute. Ignoring a 6-1 victory against an already eliminated China, they have yet to score multiple goals Down Under. With that being said, the juice is not worth the squeeze at under 2.5 goals.

England vs Colombia Props – Alessia Russo 2+ Shots on Target

Instead, I like Alessia Russo to put two or more shots on frame against Colombia, a play that offers +120 odds. The 24 year-old already has eight shots on target, giving her a SoT/90 ratio of 2.35 and a SoT% of 57.1%. Those averages give us more than enough margin on this prop, especially when plus odds are being offered. With James on the sidelines for this one, someone will have to step up on offense and Russo is a great candidate.

England vs Colombia Prediction

In regards to how this match plays out in our England vs Colombia picks, I do favor England to advance. This is an experienced tournament team directed by the best international women’s manager. They are tactically fluid and can adapt when needed, which is especially important in games that can go the distance. I also think Nigeria’s defense was a bit stronger and it is hard to see England getting shutout in two consecutive matches. On the opposite end, England have been so strong defensively, and it would require a miracle to replicate Colombia’s efforts against Germany.

Regardless, we obviously have to find value in England winning, because the moneyline is not at a value we would consider. As an alternative, hit a same-game parlay for England to win and the match to stay under 2.5 total goals, with odds of +160.

England vs Colombia Picks: England win and under 2.5 goals (+160), Russo to put two or more shots on target (+120)
