La Liga Matchday 28 runs from Friday through Monday and although there aren’t any massive fixtures on hand, there is undoubtedly betting value.

Real Madrid remains six points clear at the top of the table and will lock horns with 16th place Mallorca, while Barcelona takes on Osasuna. Elsewhere, Villarreal faces Celta Vigo, who can potentially move into the top half with a victory.

The La Lga odds above show that Atleti and Barcelona are the heaviest favorites on the board this weekend. Read on for our best bets below.

Villarreal vs Celta Vigo Prediction

Villarreal will be looking to get back to their winning ways on Saturday as they host Celta Vigo at the Estadio de la Ceramica. The Yellow Submarine is coming off a 1-0 loss to Osasuna last weekend, with the attack showing little life despite enjoying 72% of the ball. However, prior to the defeat, Unai Emery’s men were enjoying a six-game unbeaten run across all competitions, beating the likes of Real Betis and Granada. A victory here could potentially move them into a European spot.

Celta is also in decent form, losing just once in their last seven games. On Matchday 27, it was a goal-filled win for Eduardo Coudet’s side, defeating Mallorca 4-3. Iago Aspas continued his fine campaign, scoring a brace including the winner in injury time from the penalty spot. This is a tough spell ahead for Vigo, with Betis and Real Madrid following Saturday’s clash at Villarreal.

Celta has secured the full points in four of their previous seven meetings with Villarreal. However, the hosts are unbeaten on home soil in seven, including four clean sheets during that span. Vigo also hasn’t notched a victory in their last four away games in La Liga. The value I see here, however, is in goals. The Over has been comfortably hit in totals betting in six of the last eight clashes between these two sides. It will happen again.

Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (-124)

Getafe vs Valencia Prediction

A struggling Getafe side welcomes Valencia to town on Saturday. The hosts, who sit in 15th place and just three points above safety, haven’t won in four matches and most recently suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Espanyol. Scoring goals has been a serious issue for Quique Sanchez Flores’ group, netting just 26 times in 27 outings this term. They have been relatively solid at the back though, conceding only 32.

Valencia is in unfamiliar territory in ninth place and a whole nine points off a European placing. However, Los Che is finding their form as of late, securing three wins in a row while conceding just once and scoring five times. Last weekend, Jose Bordalas’s men put three past Granada in a 3-1 victory, with their entire attack getting in on the action. Carlos Soler, Goncalo Guedes, and Maxi Gomez all slotted home.

The last two meetings on home soil for Getafe against Valencia ended in 3-0 wins. However, I really like the way the visitors are playing right now. Also, they grabbed the three points in the reverse fixture at the start of the campaign at the Mestalla Stadium.

Pick: Valencia +245

Real Betis vs Athletic Bilbao Prediction

Two teams with just six points separating them will battle it out on Sunday as Real Betis host Athletic Bilbao in Seville. Betis currently occupy fifth place, but they’ve taken a brutal slide over the last few weeks. After being in the hunt for Champions League football, Manuel Pelligrini’s squad has fallen out of form, losing two of their previous three La Liga fixtures while tasting defeat in back-to-back appearances between Spain and Europe. Mid-week, Betis lost 2-1 to Frankfurt in the Europa League, and also fell victim to Atletico last Sunday by a score of 3-1.

Athletic aren’t playing great football either, grabbing just three points in as many games. However, spirits will be high for Sunday after convincingly beating Levante by two goals. Alex Berenguer was the star of the show for Bilbao, laying on two impressive assists for his teammates in a much-needed victory.

To put it frankly, Betis are atrocious against Bilbao, winning only one of 10 La Liga meetings and failing to net in six of these encounters. From that alone, I have to take Athletic here, especially considering how poor the hosts have been playing recently.

Pick: Athletic Bilbao +215
