Well, thanks to Baker Mayfield for giving the Packers short fields to work with. And kudos to their coaching staff snuffing out the Aaron Jones swing pass. Both were integral in wrecking our props bets last week.
With two weeks to go, the battle to black looks bleak, but a good Week 17 and we’re right back in the picture.
It’s a good one too, with a potential for a ton of offense when the Kansas City Chiefs seek their ninth straight win as they visit the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow, who went supernova in a win over the Ravens.
Let’s run down the player props available, pick our favorites, and earn you some nice scratch to start 2022!

Odds taken Jan 1 from DraftKings
Joe Mixon Receiving Yards
Joe Mixon was a big part of the Bengals’ offense in last week’s obliteration of the Ravens. On top of 18 carries for 65 yards and a TD, he had a season-high seven grabs for 70 yards and a score. I
t was the first time in six games that Mixon topped this week’s receiving yards total, but there are some encouraging signs in this matchup with the Chiefs.

In KC’s eight-game win streak, their defense has been pretty special, but they can’t stop everything.
They’ve allowed only one TD toss of over 30 yards during this run, forcing teams to drive the field to put up points, and that should mean plenty of opportunities for Mixon to catch passes and make plays in space. During KC’s win streak, a running back has cruised past this receiving total every game.
Pick:Â
- Mixon OVER 15.5 receiving yards (1.5 units to win 1.31 units)
Joe Burrow Rushing Yards
Coming off a monster 525-yard passing day against the Ravens, it seems like the play would be for Joe Burrow’s passing yards total. And while I don’t think that’s a bad play, considering the Bengals’ pivot has thrown for over 300 yards in each of his last three home games, we’ll look at a much smaller total.

Burrow has crossed this rushing total six times this season, and he should have ample opportunity against the Chiefs’ defense, which loves to play man-to-man coverage and have their pass rush get home. Burrow is nimble enough to slide out of the pocket and find daylight.
Opposing QB’s have found similar success. Only Derek Carr, Dak Prescott and Ben Roethlisberger have failed to cross this total across the Chiefs’ 8-game run, but it’s because they didn’t attempt a rush at all.
This total is too low not to take a stab.
Pick:
- Burrow OVER 6.5 yards rushing (1.5 unit to win 1.42 units)

Chiefs vs Bengals TD Scorers
Thanks, as always, to our good friends at DraftKings for the insight into scoring props heading into the week.
On the Kansas City side, it’s the usual suspects: Tyreek Hill has scored at least one TD in nine of the Chiefs’ las 11 regular season road games. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce, set to return after sitting out last game after landing on COVID protocols, is back. He has scored at least one touchdown in four of his last five January appearances.
Travis Kelce has won AFC Player of the Week for Week 15!!
In his performance against the Chargers:
10 receptions
Career high 191 receiving yards
Two receiving touchdowns

On the Bengals’ side, Mixon has found paydirt in eight of his last nine home appearances. Ja’Marr Chase wasn’t involved in last week’s scorefest against the Ravens, but he could be due against the Chiefs. He has scored a major in six of Cincy’s last seven games as a betting underdog.
Looking to dig a little deeper? We’ve talked about Burrow potentially finding running lanes, while Kansas City forcing teams to drive the field. A TD run could land you a big payday on +550 odds.

- Kelce to score anytime TD (1 unit to win 1 unit)
- Burrow to score anytime TD (0.5 units to win 2.75 units)
