Brewers vs Cubs Betting Outlook

Jace Peterson sparked the Brewers on Sunday with a three-run home run in the fifth inning that pushed Milwaukee’s lead to 4-0 on the way to the 8-0 victory.

Lorenzo Cain and Rowdy Tellez also homered for the Brewers. Omar Narvaez had three hits.

The Cubs had a frustrating loss Sunday as they blew a 1-0 lead in the ninth inning, a 3-1 lead in the 10th and a 4-3 advantage in the 11th before falling in 12 innings.

The Cubs managed just five hits.

Cubs right-handed reliever Chris Martin will miss the doubleheader after being placed on the bereavement list Sunday.

Rookie right fielder Seiya Suzuki is questionable after missing two games with a sprained left ring finger. At +165, Suzuki is the favorite in the NL Rookie of the Year odds.

The Cubs will call up outfielder Nelson Velazquez from Iowa, where he hit .214 with three home runs in 19 games. He was the Arizona Fall League MVP last year.

The teams have split six games this season with the Brewers winning two of three at Wrigley Field. Rowdy Tellez has gone 6-for-15 (.400) with a double and two home runs for Milwaukee while the Cubs’ Ian Happ is 6-for-16 (.375) with two doubles.
