World no. 2 Jannik Sinner begins defense of his ATP Finals title Monday when he takes on the no. 8 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Playing in his home country, Sinner opened as an overwhelming -1450 favorite to take his opening match of the group stage.
Sinner carries with him an impressive 26-match win streak on indoor hard courts, but it’s also a surface the Canadian Auger-Aliassime excels at, which is why my betting prediction thinks this will be a lot tougher for Sinner than expected.
This one gets underway at 2:30pm ET from Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, with the Tennis Channel providing the broadcast coverage.
Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime Odds
An upset price for Auger-Aliassime is +900, which are interesting odds for a player that has won two of five matches over Sinner, though not one since 2022.
Sinner is a healthy 4.5-game favorite on the spread, while the scoring line is at 20.5 for this best-of 3 match.

Sinner is on a tear heading into Turin, having won his last three tournaments.
He beat Learner Tien in straight sets to win the China Open, then went the distance to topple Alexander Zverev at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna.
Sinner should be all too familiar with Auger-Aliassime: it’s the same opponent he beat in his last match at the Paris Masters, going to a 2nd-set tiebreal to win in straight sets for the title.
Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime H2H Results
*Tournament final
Auger-Aliassime has seen plenty of Sinner this season, meeting him three times in the last six tournaments, and all ending in defeat.
The Canadian has two career wins against Sinner, but not since 2022, when he toppled him at the Cincinnati Masters in three sets, while taking him out in straight sets at the Madrid Masters.
This year has been a lot different, with Sinner wiping him out at the quarterfinals in Cincinnati, losing 6-0, 2-6. A date at the US Open the following tournament was also a tough one for the Canadian.
Though Auger-Aliassime did manage to win a set, it wasn’t until he was down 2-0. Sinner finished him off in the fourth at 4-6.
The Canadian has played well heading into Turin, winning the Fortis European Open in a thrilling three-set marathom over Jiri Lehecka. His run to the finals in Paris was again thwarted by Sinner.
Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime: Picks & Prediction
- Over 20.5 Games (-115)
It took a while for Auger-Aliassime to even find out he was headed to Turin, which invites the Top 8-ranked players in the world, but he’s now got a chance to play a guy that stopped his year from being outstanding to still very good.
So while he is a deep underdog, my Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime prediction is the Canadian makes Sinner work for this victory.
Not including the US Open, which is a 5-set match, Sinner has swept the other two matches with his serve being broken a grand total of one time.
Even without having broken Sinner’s serve in Paris, Auger-Aliassime pushed the match to 23 games. A single break could go a long way to pushing this one Over, and that’s enough to bring you a betting win.
