After winning the regular season crown, the St. John’s Red Storm enter the Big East Tournament as the top seed, in their attempt to win back-to-back titles.
There are three main contenders in the eyes of oddsmakers, with #2 seeded UConn the favorite, followed by St. John’s, and third seeded Villanova. The Huskies won the tourney in 2024, with the Wildcats last taking it in 2022. The other eight teams in the Big East were at .500 or worse in the regular season.
There’s eleven teams competing to win the Big East Tournament, with games running from Wednesday to Saturday. Let’s have a look at the tournament odds, bracket and full preview below.
2026 Big East Tournament Odds
Among the Big East squads, UConn is the clear choice to win it all for the third time in four years in the current March Madness odds at +1800. However, they aren’t the overall favorite, which is Michigan at +400. The Huskies find themselves with the fifth shortest odds. Despite being the top seed in the Big East tourney, St. John’s is a distant +12500 longshot.
The college basketball odds indicate there’s not much love for other units from the Big East, with third ranked Villanova an even longer shot at +25000.

Big East Tournament Schedule 2026 & How to Watch
Action starts Wednesday with three games, tipping off with the 8th-seeded Butler Bulldogs taking on 9th Providence Friars at 4pm ET. That will be followed by #7 Marquette Golden Eagles vs 10th Xavier Musketeers at 6:30pm ET, capped off by #6 DePaul Blue Demons against #11 Georgetown Hoyas at 9pm ET. You can catch those games on Peacock.
That will be followed by a quartet of contests Thursday. It all begins with the victor between Butler/Providence squaring off with top ranked St. John’s at noon eastern. Then at 2:30pm ET, #4 Seton Hall goes toe to toe with #5 Creighton. Both of those games are on Peacock.
The last two duels will be seen on FS1, and it features #2 UConn in a skirmish vs the Marquette/Xavier champ at 7pm ET, capped off at 9:30pm ET by #3 Villanova in their duel with the winner of DePaul/Georgetown.
Day three will be the semifinals, with the first contest at 5:30 pm ET on Fox, followed by the 8pm showdown on FS1. The Big East championship final is slated for Saturday at 6:30 pm ET on FOX.
2026 Big East Tournament Prediction
It may not be the sexy pick, but sometimes going with the chalk selection is the right call. This season, UConn went 6-2 against top 25 teams, compared to St. John’s, who were 1-4. They each split a pair of meetings, with the Red Storm emerging victorious in the first attempt 81-72 on February 6th. The Huskies returned the favor with a 72-40 beatdown nearly three weeks later.
This year, UConn had the harder strength of schedule, according to KenPom, and their net rating was eleventh in the country, compared to 21st for their adversaries. Be sure to reference the college basketball public betting as a resource to see into the mind’s of sharps and what they’re expecting in the tournament.
The Huskies boast three players in the all-Big East first team, featuring Tarris Reed Jr, Silas Demary Jr and Alex Karaban, compared to just one for St. John’s (Zuby Ejiofor). The conference doesn’t boast a contender in the Wooden Award odds, which is headlined by heavy favorite Cameron Boozer of Duke.
I can’t get on board with the third choice, which is Villanova (+700), given that they lost twice to both St. John’s and UConn on the campaign.
There really isn’t any realistic value with any of the longshots, so in this instance, I’m willing to wager on the 2023 and 2024 national champion Huskies to win the Big East Tournament.
- Pick: UConn (-115 at FanDuel)
