Two games, two comebacks. The Hurricanes and Golden Knights split the first two in Raleigh, and the Stanley Cup Final now heads west tied 1-1. After Vegas stole Game 1, Carolina answered with an overtime comeback in Game 2 to reclaim its spot as the betting favorite.
FanDuel has shifted the Cup odds back in Carolina’s favor after the split, though the number is tighter than where the Canes opened the series. A scary injury to a key Vegas defenseman could move things even further before Game 3.
Here are the updated Hurricanes vs Golden Knights series odds at FanDuel with the Final tied 1-1.
Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Updated Series Odds
The updated Hurricanes vs Golden Knights odds have Carolina at -142, a 58.7% implied probability to win the Cup, with Vegas at +118. The total games line sits at 6.5, with the under favored at -180.
Carolina opened the series around -155 in the Stanley Cup odds before falling to a +130 underdog after the Game 1 loss. The Game 2 comeback flipped them right back to the favorite.

Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Games 1 & 2 Recap
Game 1 was a Vegas heist. Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice in the first to put Carolina up 2-0, but the Knights stormed back to win 5-4 as +135 road underdogs. Tomas Hertl buried the game-winner with 3:24 left, and neither team scored on the power play.
Game 2 flipped the script. Carolina trailed 2-0 heading into the third before Logan Stankoven and Mark Jankowski tied it. A failed Vegas coach’s challenge handed the Canes a power play, Jordan Staal made it 3-2, and after Mark Stone forced OT, Seth Jarvis won it on the man advantage at 3:56.
The comeback carried weight for both sides. A 2-0 series lead would have been close to a death sentence for Carolina, as teams that fall behind 2-0 in the Cup Final are 5-50 all-time. Instead, the Canes are headed to Vegas tied, and they’re a perfect 6-0 in overtime this postseason.

Brayden McNabb Injury Update
The biggest wildcard for Game 3 is the health of Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb. Just 52 seconds into Game 2, he took a slap shot from Nikolaj Ehlers off the face and went down immediately. He skated off under his own power and did not return.
It was a scary scene. McNabb was reportedly taken to a local hospital for evaluation, forcing Vegas to play more than two periods with five defensemen. There’s been no official update on his status.
Losing him would be a real blow to the Vegas blueline. McNabb logs nearly 21 minutes a night and had two assists in Game 1, the first multi-point game of his 1,005-game career. His availability is the storyline to watch as Vegas hosts Games 3 and 4.
Why Carolina Is Favored in the Cup Final
The special teams gap is the biggest reason. Carolina has gone 2-for-8 on the power play through two games, while Vegas is 0-for-8. Both the go-ahead goal and the OT winner in Game 2 came on the man advantage.
The Canes have controlled the physical play too, throwing 46 hits in Game 2 to Vegas’s 25. If McNabb can’t go, that forecheck becomes an even bigger problem for a short-handed Vegas blueline.
The series shifts to T-Mobile Arena for Game 3 on Saturday, June 6 at 8:20 PM ET, with Game 4 to follow Tuesday, June 9. Carolina did exactly what it needed to by holding serve in Raleigh, and my original Hurricanes in 6 prediction is still alive with the Canes back in front at the book.
