We are ready for a blockbuster championship tilt at the WTA Toronto between Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina.
Based purely on rankings, Rybakina, the World No. 2, is positioned slightly ahead of the No. 8-ranked Swiatek. However, the history between these two stars dramatically muddies the waters for bettors, and the books have Swiatek the betting favorite Thursday.
The biggest conundrum for sharp bettors is whether Rybakina’s superior form and tactical adjustments in the 2026 season are enough to finally overcome Swiatek’s long-standing advantage, or if the Polish champion remains Rybakina’s ultimate stylistic hurdle.
Action gets underway tonight at 6pm ET from Center Court at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, with the Tennis Channel providing the broadcast coverage in the US, and Sportsnet carrying the matches in Canada.
Świątek vs Rybakina Expert Picks and Predictions
- Pick: Rybakina Moneyline (+138 at Kalshi)
The WTA Toronto final presents a fascinating betting proposition where Swiatek’s historical edge meets Rybakina’s stronger current ratings profile and recent hard-court momentum.
My betting thesis centers on the fact that the +130 odds for Rybakina reflect an overemphasis on Swiatek’s overall head-to-head record and an underappreciation of Rybakina’s tactical refinement.
The 52-week performance data also show a clear contrast in how the players can win this matchup: Rybakina averages 0.64 aces per game to Swiatek’s 0.28, wins 82.3% of her service games to Swiatek’s 72.4%, and saves 65.4% of break points to Swiatek’s 56.5%.
Those serve-and-first-strike advantages matter against Swiatek because they reduce the number of neutral rallies in which the Polish star’s return game can take over.
Rybakina wins 74.2% of first-serve points and 51.4% of second-serve points, both above Swiatek’s 68.0% and 48.8%, respectively. She also owns the better 52-week breakpoint-prevail rate (1.838 to 1.680), dominance efficiency (1.329 to 1.154), and match efficiency (2.844 to 1.900). That is a strong statistical foundation for backing the underdog, not merely a narrative built around one past upset.
- Pick: Over 21.5 Total Games (-120 at bet365)
My second pick is centered on the competitive intensity of their recent matchups. While I favor Rybakina for the upset, I predict this final will not be a swift, short affair. Swiatek is known for her defensive tenacity, and Rybakina’s potent serve should create enough holds and tight return games to push the total over the line implied by the -120 odds.
Two of the last four completed matches between these competitors required a third set, and even Rybakina’s straight-sets victory at the 2026 Australian Open began with a 7-5 set.
The 52-week figures point in both directions: Swiatek creates more break points (0.95 per game versus 0.73) and wins more return games (47.6% versus 33.4%), but Rybakina’s 82.3% service-games-won rate and 65.4% break points saved give her a strong chance of avoiding a quick collapse. That combination of Swiatek’s return pressure and Rybakina’s hold potential makes extended sets—and a live Over—more plausible.

Both players are 5-0 in Toronto, so the case for the underdog is not based on an easy draw or a one-sided form line. It is based on Rybakina’s matchup-specific strengths holding up against an opponent whose best weapons are also being priced into the market.
The current Elo numbers reinforce that view. Rybakina is rated 2,111.4 overall versus Swiatek at 2,058.0, while her hard-court Elo is 2,104.4 compared with Swiatek’s 2,018.8. That 85.6-point hard-court gap is meaningful context for a final played on Toronto’s hard surface, even though the official WTA ranking favors Rybakina as well.
Swiatek is getting -163 odds to advance, while Rybakina sits at +130 odds to pull off the upset. She’s is also getting -120 odds and is getting an extra 2.5 games on the spread, while Swiatek is getting the same odds, but need to win by at least three games. The total is set for 215 games, with both sides of the wager paying out at -120 odds.
