Saturday brings a 12-game NHL card, and the Montreal Canadiens visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs is the rivalry headliner. Both clubs score more than 3.4 goals per game, which drives one of my three best bets.
Out west, the Edmonton Oilers host a Vancouver Canucks team with three wins in 18 games. The Carolina Hurricanes also host the Chicago Blackhawks, creating another lopsided matchup on the NHL odds board.
Every game gets a pick and projected score in the table below, followed by my best bets and the latest handle splits. Here are my NHL picks today for Saturday, Nov. 7.
NHL Picks Today
My NHL predictions side with the home team in seven of 12 games, and my widest projected margins belong to Carolina (5-1), Dallas (4-1) and Edmonton (5-2).
Saturday NHL Predictions and Best Bets
Prices for my NHL best bets tonight are Kalshi buy quotes as of Nov. 6. Each Yes contract pays $1 if correct, so a 56¢ price works out to about a 56% implied chance. New users can sign up with the Kalshi promo code and get a bonus to use on any of tonight’s games.
NHL Prediction Today #1: Edmonton -1.5 vs Vancouver
- Pick: Edmonton -1.5 (56¢ on Kalshi)
My first NHL prediction today is Edmonton covering the puck line at home. Fueled by Hart Trophy odds favorite Connor McDavid, the Oilers are 11-3-3 and score 4.12 goals per game behind a 33.9% power play. They also allow 3 goals per game, so this bet leans on their offense.
Vancouver is 3-14-1, scoring 2.94 goals per game while allowing 4.61. Its 63.3% penalty kill is a rough matchup against Edmonton’s power play. Neither team has a confirmed starting goalie yet, so watch the crease news before puck drop.
Vancouver is 1-15 as an underdog over its last 16 games and 1-8 in its last nine road games. Edmonton has won three of the last four meetings, and I have the Oilers winning 5-2.
NHL Pick Today #2: Carolina -1.5 vs Chicago
- Pick: Carolina -1.5 (64¢ on Kalshi)
Stanley Cup odds favorite Carolina is 13-3-2 and controls play at both ends. The Hurricanes average 33.3 shots per game and allow just 22.6, while scoring 3.8 goals and conceding 2.3. That profile makes the puck line my preferred way to back them.
The Canes beat the Islanders 5-3 last time out. Logan Stankoven has 11 goals, including six in his last eight games, and Sebastian Aho has 23 points in 18 games.
Chicago is 4-12-1, scoring 2.2 goals per game and allowing 3.9. The Blackhawks have lost nine straight road games and their last eight as an underdog. Carolina has won seven of the last eight meetings, and my NHL pick today calls for a 5-1 Hurricanes win.
NHL Prediction Today #3: Canadiens vs Maple Leafs Over 6.5
- Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (53¢ on Kalshi)
Toronto scores 3.7 goals per game and allows 3.2, while Montreal scores 3.4 and allows 3.2. The two scoring averages add up to just over seven goals, which supports my Canadiens vs Maple Leafs prediction on the Over.
Montreal is 10-3-3 and Toronto is 8-7-2. Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach returned to Montreal’s lineup this week, while John Tavares is expected back Saturday after a full practice Friday.
The Over has cashed in each of Montreal’s last four games and in seven of its last nine following a win. Toronto games have gone Over in five of the last seven. My 4-3 Maple Leafs projection clears the total.
Saturday NHL Public Betting Splits
These teams are drawing the largest share of moneyline handle in their games per the NHL public betting splits. Handle measures the money wagered, not the number of bets or who placed them.
Dallas, New Jersey and Edmonton are each drawing more than 98% of the moneyline money in their games, while Toronto and the Rangers sit above 86%. My NHL picks today line up with all five, though lopsided handle alone doesn’t make a bet good value.
