The last time the Washington Nationals were playing host to the Atlanta Braves, there was good news. Washington fashioned a 3-2 victory in 10 innings on the home front on Sept. 28 of last season.

For the most part, though, last season’s success story between the two ball clubs was fashioned by the Braves. Atlanta posted a 14-5 straight up record over Washington during the 2022 National League campaign. That was including a nine-game win streak at one point.

Fried didn’t allow an earned run all spring and was showing a 0.70 WHIP.

Corbin was 9-16 in 2021. Last season, he also allowed more hits (210) and earned runs (107) than any other NL hurler. Corbin has surrendered 64 home runs over the past two seasons.

Albies, Arcia Carrying Hot Bats

The double-play combination for the Braves has proven to be double trouble for Corbin. Second baseman Ozzie Albies is batting .429 in 28 at-bats with three homers and 11 RBI. In just 17 trips to the plate, shortstop Orlando Arcia is smacking .471 with two homers and six RBI.
