One of the few bright spots for the Mets this season, Kodai Senga has performed admirable in his first year since coming over from Japan. As he adjusts to the demands of the MLB scheduled, the team has spaced out his starts when possible making sure his arm will be comfortable if they can manage a playoff run in September.

Consistency has been a bit of an issue for the 30-year old, as he’s alternated terrific outings with poor to mediocre ones over his last eight appearances. If that trend continues, then he’s poised for a great outing, as he got roughed up for four earned runs his last time out.

Blessed with a terrific amount of run support, Taijuan Walker leads the Phillies with seven wins this season, although his performance was nothing to brag about through the first two months of the year.
He’s turned the page this month, allowing just one run over 20 innings in his last three starts, while not giving up a single homer. In Walker’s first 12 starts, he allowed 10 long balls. Not many MLB lineups have a hitter like Pete Alonso, so Walker would be wise to be careful when dealing with the NL home run leader.
