A freak Kevin Durant injury in warmups may have taken a little shine off Saturday’s matchup between the Sacramento Kings (39-26, 18-13 away) and Phoenix Suns (37-29, 22-10 home).

But make no mistake: there’s plenty of high stakes when the two collide in a battle at the top of the West’s NBA Playoff Bracket.

The Kings are en route to their first playoff berth in 16 years, and are have lost just once in their last eight games. Phoenix is surging themselves, reeling off four straight and 16 of their last 21.

This one gets underway Saturday (March 11) at 9pm ET from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ. You can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.

Kings vs Suns Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Sacramento Kings +3.5 (-105) +140 OFF
Phoenix Suns -3.5 (-115) -165 OFF

The NBA odds have the Suns as 3.5-point home favorites, and -165 on the moneyline. That’s an implied win probability of 62.26%.

Phoenix enters Saturday as the 4-seed in the West, 2.5 games back of the Kings, who are tied with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2-seed. At 22-10 at home, the Suns are tied for the 3rd-most home wins in the conference.

Sacramento likely won’t be able to catch the top-seeded Denver Nuggets, who they trail by six games with 17 to go in the regular season. They are 18-13 on the road, tied with Clippers for the most road wins in the West.

Sacramento Betting Analysis

SacTo has lost just once since coming out of the break, and they looked good last time out with a 122-117 win over the New York Knicks.

Domantas Sabonis led the way with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, his ninth triple-double on the year. De’Aaron Fox had 23 points, seven assists and four steals, as all starters finished in double-digit scoring.

Malik Monk came off the bench for 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.

The top-scoring team in the NBA at 121.1 points per game — nearly three full points over the next closest club — the Kings’ offense has gone supernova in the last eight, averaging 132.9 points on 54.7% shooting from the field and 39.7% from distance.

They’re also surrendering 118.3 points per game, the 4th-most points per game in the league, and that number is up to 126.6 during this streak, with teams shooting 50.1% from the field and 40.7% from distance.

Phoenix Betting Analysis

Currently third in the 2023 NBA Championship odds, Phoenix might only have only seen what they have with KD for those three road games, as it’s reported he could be done until the playoffs start.

The Suns kept up the pace without their new star, crushing the OKC Thunder 132-101 last game out.

Devin Booker was unstoppable, finishing with 44 points, three rebounds and four assists. He’s averaging 38 points a game during this current 4-game win streak, hitting for at least 35 in every game.

Terrence Ross, a buyout pickup post trade-deadline, showed out, dropping 24 points, including 6-for-10 shooting from downtown. Chris Paul had 18 points, nine assists, four rebounds and four steals.

The Suns are fifth in the NBA in three-point shooting, hitting at a 38% clip, They’re also fifth in offensive rebounding, which is worth noting as SacTo surrendered a whopping 23 offensive rebounds vs New York, leading to the Knicks getting 17 more field goal attempts.

Kings vs Suns Betting Prediction

It’s the third meeting between these two teams, with Phoenix winning both previous matchups.

Booker has starred in both W’s: he went for 32 points and five boards in a 120-109 win on Valentine’s Day, and went for 44, eight boards, four dimes and six steals in a 122-117 win in late November.

The Kings have been a great bet on the road, going 19-12 against the spread, the second-best success rate in the NBA. They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last five games in Phoenix.

Phoenix is also a good bet at home, going 15-9-1 ATS as home favorites.

Still, the KD loss looms large in this matchup, as the Suns’ depth will get challenged against a team that can absolutely fill it up.
