It seems a foregone conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals will take LSU quarterback and 2019 Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow with the first pick of the NFL Draft in. However, that doesn’t mean there still won’t be intrigue during the three-day event, which will be held April 23-25th.

It will be interesting to see who is the second quarterback selected as well the first player chosen at various other positions.

Let’s take at a look at some of the odds at offensive positions:

2020 First Wide Receiver Drafted Odds

Player Odds
CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma) -115
Jerry Jeudy (Alabama) +125
Henry Ruggs III (Alabama) +750
Field +1000

All odds taken March 18th

This is one of the deepest wide receiving classes ever, and many of the pass catchers figure to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Jeudy, though, looks like a good value as the second choice. Many scouts and analysts believe he is better than Lamb.

At 6-foot-1, 193 pounds, Jeudy is not one of the big receivers who have become so popular in the NFL. However, he plays physically for his size, is an excellent route runner and has great acceleration after the catch.

Jeudy also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at the combine.

Last season, Jeudy had 77 receptions for 1,163 yards and 10 touchdowns. Those statistics would have likely been even more impressive if not the for the presence of two other standout Alabama receivers in Henry Ruggs III and Devonta Smith.

In his three-year career, Jeudy caught 159 passes for 2,742 yards – an impressive average of 17.2 yards per reception – and 26 TDs.

2020 First Running Back Drafted Odds

Player Odds
D’Andre Swift (Georgia) -125
Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin) +140
Field +750
J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State) +800

Running backs used to dominate the draft. However, with NFL offenses relying on the pass more with each passing (pardon the pun) season, RB is no longer considered a premium position.

Nevertheless, the players listed above can make an impact in the league right away.

While Taylor had the gaudier statistics, many scouts believe the 5-foot-8, 202-pound Swift will be the better pro.

Fitting of his name, Swift has the speed to run past defenders despite his 4.46 time in the 40 at the combine. Though he is small in stature, Swift also possesses the strength to knock would-be tacklers down with his patented stiff arm.

He had a strong 2019 season for Georgia, rushing for 1,218 yards and seven touchdowns on 196 carries. Swift also had 24 receptions for 216 yards and one TD in the Bulldogs’ run-heavy offense.

Though Swift battled a shoulder injury last season, he has returned to full health.

For his three-year career, Swift rushed 440 times for 2,885 and 20 TDS and had 73 catches for 666 yards and five scores.

Swift doesn’t present value as the chalk but he’s the way to go here. If you’re looking for a long shot, the field might be worth a wager as some teams love Utah’s Zack Moss despite his poor showing at the combine.

2020 First Offensive Lineman Drafted Odds

Player Odds
Tristan Wirfs (Iowa) +180
Mehki Becton (Louisville) +225
Jedrick Wills Jr. (Alabama) +225
Anthony Thomas (Georgia) +800
Field +1000

One of the big reason Swift was able to have such a standout college career is because of Andrew Thomas. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound tackle is considered the best run blocker in this year’s draft.

Thomas was a second-team AP All-American last season in helping Georgia go 12-2 and win the SEC West before falling to eventual national champion LSU in the conference championship game.

While Thomas has earned his chops as a run blocker, he has also proven to be effective against pass rushers, thanks in part to his 83-inch wingspan.

Wirfs was a workout wonder at the combine, generating plenty of hype. However, Thomas had the more consistent career and the price is certainly right.

2020 Second Quarterback Drafted Odds

Player Odds
Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) -350
Justin Herbert (Oregon) +275
Jordan Love (Utah State) +1000
Field +1600

Everyone knows that Tagovailoa comes with a certain amount of risk. He missed the final three games last season because of hip surgery. He also did not take part in drills at the combine, though he wowed teams in his interviews.

However, the 6-foot, 217-pounder’s production at Alabama was unquestionably good. Though Burrow won the Heisman Trophy, some analysts believe Tagovailoa would be the No. 1 pick if he hadn’t been injured.

In nine games last season, Tagovailoa completed 71.4% of his passes for 2,840 yards and 33 touchdowns while be intercepted just three times.

Tagovailoa doesn’t have a gun for arm. Yet he can make all the throws, has great accuracy and mental skills. He is mobile, too, and been clocked as low as 4.54 in the 40.

Tagovailoa also showed he can rise to any occasion. Think back to the national championship game in the 2017 when he took over for an injured Jalen Hurts and led the Crimson Tide’s comeback victory over Georgia.

There is a reason the oddsmakers have made Tagovailoa a big favorite.
