Cardinals vs Rams Betting Analysis

The Arizona Cardinals are seriously sputtering, having dropped four of their last five contests. Each of those games were against NFC division leaders, as Seattle got the better of them twice, with Philly and Minnesota also beating them.

The Rams are also in the exact same boat – failing in four of five affairs, with each of the defeats coming against teams currently in playoff position (49ers twice, Cowboys, and a heartbreaking last minute loss to the Bucs last week).

Five of the last six Rams games have wound up with a total less than the 40 that is listed. On the contrary, the last three Cardinals games have featured at least 52 points being scored.

Arizona is tied for the worst team in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus (29th on offense, 29th on defense). Their counterparts are middle of the road at 15th best overall (27th on offense but a stout third on defense).

Cardinals vs Rams Injury Report

Both teams have a massive list of players who have either been ruled out of this one or are questionable. Both QB’s are questionable to play, with a decision on Matthew Stafford potentially not coming up until kickoff, and Kyle Murray in the same boat with a hamstring injury.

The Cards have already listed offensive linemen Max Garcia and Rodney Hudson out. Defensive backs Budda Baker and Byron Murphy Jr are questionable, which would be big losses. Six others have the questionable tag, including kicker Matt Prater and OL DJ Humphries.

RB Malcolm Brown and LB Travin Howard have been ruled out for the Rams, with two others doubtful and two questionable.

51% of the bets have been placed for the Rams to cover the spread, with 72% of the handle on the under in Cardinals vs Rams NFL betting trends, with 62% of the handle placed on Arizona to pull off the upset on the moneyline.

Cardinals vs Rams Prediction

With Matthew Stafford potentially unable to go, as teams err on the side of caution with concussions, backup John Wolford will be thrust into action. He’s made parts of two starts in his career, with the second one seeing him leaving early in a postseason contest.

While the Cards offense has scored at least 21 points in three straight with DeAndre Hopkins back, they’re up against a Rams team that has won eleven of twelve against them. In eight instances, ‘Zona has scored no more than 16 points.

The Pick:

  • Under 40 points (-109); 1 unit to win 0.92 units

2022 record: 13-11; +2.89 units
