The “Team Selecting” column has been included so you can factor in any trades that may occur during the first round.

The scoring system we’ve created for our mock draft here is explained below. But feel free to adjust it based to your group’s liking.

  • 4 points for a player in the correct slot + 1 bonus point for the correct team
  • 2 points for a player selected one pick away from where you had them
  • 1 point for a player selected two picks away from where you had them

In this scoring system above, a basic example would be receiving 4 points + 1 bonus point if you’ve selected Bryce Young to go #1 to the Carolina Panthers and he does in fact go to the Panthers first overall.

But if the Panthers skipped taking Young and instead chose CJ Stroud (or anyone else), and then the Houston Texans, drafting second, took Young, you’d get 2 points. This is because Young got picked one spot away from where you had picked him to go.

But if Young dropped all the way to third and got chosen by the Cardinals or another team (if there’s a trade), then you would get just 1 point. This is because he was taken two spots away from where you had him (3rd vs 1st). If Young dropped even further you would get 0 points.

This would work for any player lower down in the first round as well though if they get drafted above or below by a 1-2 spots. Select a player to go 20th and you’d get 2 points if they get taken 19th or 21st and 1 point if they get taken 18th or 22nd.

Note that this year there are only 31 current First Round selections when considering how many NFL Draft picks there are, as Miami has forfeited their selection.
