Offensive Lineman Galore

With the total on 5.5 for offensive lineman selected in the first round, all eyes are on draft boards and mock drafts alike.

As things stand Paris Johnson Jr, Peter Skoronski, Broderick Jones and Darnell Wright have to be seen as locks to be selected in the first 31 picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. However, in ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid’s latest mock, seven offensive lineman are selected in the first round. As Anton Harrison of Oklahoma, Dawand Jones of Ohio State, and O’Cyrus Torrence of the University of Florida join the top four tackles as first round picks.

Johnson Jr, Skoronski, Broderick Jones and Darnell Wright are all likely be picked in the top 20 of the 2023 NFL Draft. With a personal 1st round scouting grade on both Anton Harrison and O’Cyrus Torrence this is an easy play. Even if Dawand Jones is the odd man out, we still hit the over.

Offensive Lineman selected in the 1st round pick: Over 5.5 (-180)

Top End Talent at Tight End Leaves First Round Total Leaning Under

Michael Mayer of the Notre Dame is one of the safest prospects in this entire draft class.

Nicknamed “Baby Gronk” as a youngster, Mayer is a solid all-around football player. He can block for your team as a 6th offensive lineman, or destroy safeties and body corners on the outside as a mismatch nightmare. Mayer is a lock to be selected in the first round.

After Mayer the tight end position gets a little dicey in the first round. While Utah pass-catching extraordinaire Dalton Kincaid is also unlikely to make it out of the first round, there’s not another player to make betting the over a value pick.

Although Georgia’s Darnell Washington and Oregon State’s Luke Musgrave are both great players, neither is a game-changer worthy of a first round selection.

Tight Ends selected in the 1st round pick: Under 2.5 (-300)

The NFL Draft Still Revolves Around Quarterbacks

There are many theories on the best roster building strategy for NFL football. Some teams beef up the offensive line, while others start with pass-rushers and a strong secondary. However, one position rules them all, and in the darkness binds them. Winning a Super Bowl in the modern NFL requires elite play from the quarterback position.

Thankfully, this year’s NFL draft is blessed with top talent. Ohio State’s CJ Stroud is the favorite to be the first overall pick in the latest NFL Draft odds. While Alabama’s Bryce Young is nipping at his heels. Subsequently, Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis are both outstanding athletes who are likely to be selected in the first ten picks. After that, the 2023 NFL Draft gets very interesting.

Betting on the total quarterbacks selected in the first round likely comes down to your grade on Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.

While Hooker will likely miss most of his rookie season after tearing his ACL in late November, he’s possesses all the tools necessary to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Moreover, there are a sneaky number of quarterback needy-teams selecting in the back half of the first round. There is also a high probability that a team who loves Hooker trades up to select him late in the first in order to secure the crucial fifth-year option on his contract.

At +125 odds there is a ton of value on betting over 4.5 quarterbacks.

Quarterbacks selected in the first round pick: Over 4.5 (+125)
