The Jets are listed on the puckline at +165 odds, while the Habs are -205 to keep the game within two goals. Winnipeg’s -148 moneyline price gives them 59.7% implied probability to win.
Montreal was eliminated from playoff contention some time ago. While the Jets haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the NHL playoff bracket, they are seven points back of Dallas for the final postseason berth in the Western Conference with just 12 games to go. Making matters worse, two other teams (Vegas, Vancouver) sit in between. Their Stanley Cup odds have faded to a dismal +25000.
Jets Listed as Favorites in Monday NHL Odds
The Jets are favored to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with a win over Montreal in the Monday NHL odds. Winnipeg’s playoff chances are sitting at 0.3% following a 4-3 win over Ottawa on Sunday.
Although the Jets earned a victory against the Senators, they’ve lost four of their past five games entering Monday. Dave Lowry’s squad sits seven points back of Dallas for the second wildcard spot with nine games remaining.

Winnipeg enters Monday’s must-win NHL game boasting a 14-13-8 road record in 2021-22. The Jets have earned most of those victories due to goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who is 25-25-10 with a .911 save percentage and 2.94 GAA.
The Jets have a lethal top-six offense led by 41-goalscorer Kyle Connor. Due to the exploits of Toronto’s Auston Matthews, Connor’s Rocket Richard Trophy odds have fade to +2250, but he remains a top-five favorite.
Winnipeg’s top line has been red hot, but they’ve been dealt a major blow. Leading scorer Mark Scheifele suffered an upper-body injury Monday and won’t be in the lineup versus Montreal.
Do Habs Offer Home Underdog Value?
Montreal is listed as +123 home underdogs versus Winnipeg in the Monday NHL odds. This means the Habs have 44.8% implied probability to win. While the Canadiens have been eliminated from playoff contention, they’d love to crush Winnipeg’s postseason dreams.
Montreal enters Monday’s game boasting a lackluster 3-5-2 record in their past 10 games. The Habs did put up a good fight in their last contest against Toronto on Saturday, however. Montreal lost 3-2 to Auston Matthews and the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

The Habs have been underdogs in the NHL odds in all but 10 games this season. Montreal owns similar home and away records, so they haven’t gotten a huge boost playing in front of the passionate fans at Bell Centre.
Montreal’s lacklustre defense and goaltending is primarily to blame for their struggles. Goalies Jake Allen (.905 SV%) and Samuel Montembeault (.896 SV%) haven’t been able to bail out an injury-riddled blueline.
The main reason to consider an underdog wager on the Habs is the play of their top forward line. Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield are playing with plenty of confidence entering Monday. Caufield has scored four times in his past five games, while Suzuki has four points in that span.

Jets vs Canadiens Pick & Prediction
The Jets are clearly the superior team based on NHL standings, but advanced metrics actually show that the gap is smaller than you might think. Winnipeg has simply been getting dominated in puck possession and high-dangers chances over the past month.
Recent history is also interesting for Jets vs Habs, as Montreal has taken five of the past six meetings. The Canadiens, of course, swept the Jets in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Montreal is in a solid spot to play spoiler at Bell Centre on Monday. They’ve outshot the Jets in the past three meetings and are coming off a solid effort against an elite Toronto team. They also hold a nice rest advantage with Winnipeg playing Sunday.
The Habs’ power play has been the difference in several of the recent meetings and it should be a factor again. The Jets have the NHL’s fourth-worst penalty kill and will struggle to shutdown Montreal’s surging Suzuki and Caufield tandem.
Look for Montreal to continue their strong play and spoil the Jets’ playoff hopes on home ice. Take the Habs at +123 in the Monday NHL odds at Caesars Sportsbook.
Pick: Canadiens ML (+123)
