Two days after wrestling victory from the jaws of defeat against the Panthers, Connor McDavid and the Oilers are back on the road for a date with Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks. Puck drop for the Oilers and Blackhawks is set for 9:30 pm ET on Wednesday, November 30th in a game that will be broadcast on TNT.
Fans in Edmonton, be advised, do not turn your television off with this team. Two nights after coming back from a three-goal 3rd-period deficit to beat the Rangers, the Oilers tied the Panthers with five seconds left in regulation before defeating them 4-3 in overtime on Monday.
Matched up against a far inferior opponent on Wednesday, the Oilers are big -210 favorites in the NHL odds against a Blackhawks squad that’s lost seven in a row. For more of the Oilers vs Blackhawks odds, see below, plus read on for our best bet and prediction.

Keeping the puck out of the net has been a big issue for the Blackhawks lately, and the over/under is set at 6.5 goals for this contest with the free-wheeling Oil. Linemakers put the odds of the over at -115, while the under pays -105 if you’re so inclined to believe this will be a different story from their first clash this year, a 6-5 Edmonton win.
Edmonton Oilers Betting Outlook
Not only is McDavid leading the league in scoring again, but he’s making incredibly timely and magnificent plays to get points for an Edmonton side that’s been inconsistent this year. He had a perfect helper with seconds to go that set up Evan Bouchard’s game-tying goal against Florida before setting up Leon Draisaitl for the winner in overtime.
Evan Bouchard scores with four seconds left on the clock to tie the game 3-3!
With the assist, Connor McDavid tallies his league-leading 38th point of the season and 11th multi-point game of the season! #LetsGoOilers

The Hart Trophy odds continue to shorten for the preseason favorite as he seems destined to capture his third MVP award. McDavid had a hat trick and four point night when these teams met last month.
After tasting playoff success last season, the Oilers were installed as one of the legitimate contenders in the Stanley Cup odds, but suspect goaltending as well as some erratic play has left fans in the Alberta capital wanting more.
One way of convincing the media and audience that they mean business is to get on a bit of a roll. They can run their win streak to three games against what is expected to be an easy foe. A loss to the Blackhawks will allow the naysayers to voice their concerns that much louder.
Blackhawks Worth Over Bet in NHL Odds
It’s been a tale of two months for Chicago and they probably can’t wait to wave November goodbye. They have just two wins so far this month and haven’t tasted victory on home ice in almost four weeks.
Blackhawks October-November Comparison
Month | Record | Points | Goals For | Goals Against |
---|---|---|---|---|
October | 4-3-2 | 10 | 31 (3.44 per game) | 31 (3.44 per game) |
November | 2-8-2 | 6 | 21 (1.75 per game) | 47 (3.92 per game) |
The pipes have been particularly leaky for Chicago of late. Over the last six contests, the Blackhawks have given up 32 goals, an average of over five per outing. Entertaining two of the top contenders in the Rocket Richard trophy odds likely isn’t the right formula to help them turn things around.
With pucks finding the back of the net regularly behind Blackhawks goaltenders, the over has hit in five of their last six contests. Chicago is the fourth-worst defensive unit in the league, allowing 3.62 goals per game, while the Oilers haven’t fared much better, allowing 3.55 per outing, ranking tied for 25th in the NHL.
7-2 Jets FINAL#Blackhawks losing streak reaches 7 games, while they have also now dropped 13 of their last 15. Just 2 wins (1 in regulation) in 12 games so far in the month of November.

Oilers vs Blackhawks Pick & Prediction
This season was always expected to be a difficult one for the Blackhawks, but they did have an encouraging start giving some cause for hope. Right now, the biggest story surrounding the team seems to be whether Patrick Kane will get traded or not. Can you imagine him being dealt to the Oilers team he’s facing on Wednesday night?

Interestingly enough, the Blackhawks have actually played the Oilers well over the last few years. They’ve won four of their last six against Edmonton and covered the puck line in five of those games.
No, there is no expectation of a Chicago victory in the Wednesday NHL odds in this one, but the best bet and money play here is to pick the over. Kane should be motivated to prove he still can dazzle against two of the best forwards in the league and both teams are amongst the worst in goals against.
Picking the Oilers on the moneyline just isn’t worth your money. They might not put up 11 again between them, like they did in their meeting in October, but it’s a pretty safe prediction to pick them to come close.
Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-115)
