  • The NASCAR Playoff Chase continues its final segment with the Dixie Vodka 400 set to run on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022
  • Several contenders include Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, and potentially Joey Logano
  • Below are the Dixie Vodka 400 betting odds and picks ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads down to Homestead, Florida, for race number 34 of the 2022 season. The Homestead Miami Speedway is a 1.5-mile oval intermediate course. The race distance totals about 400 miles over 267 laps. Now, who will be able to negotiate the Miami area circuit and can someone else automatically advance to the finale in Phoenix?

The second race of segment three is a week after the South Point 400, where Joey Logano held off Ross Chastain to punch his way to Phoenix and the “Final Four”.

Here are the Dixie Vodka 400 odds.

Hamlin enters this race as a solid +700 co-favorite to win, followed by Tyler Reddick also at +700. After Kyle Larson and Joey Logano are there at +1000. This is an intermediate course where drivers can lead huge chunks of the race.

NASCAR drivers will start their engines on the 1.5-mile, 80-80-107 stage lap setup when the flag drops for the Sunday afternoon race beginning around 2:30 pm ET on NBC Network.

Denny Hamlin A Solid Co-Favorite For Sunday

Yes, this is not a surprise. Denny Hamlin remains a solid co-favorite for Sunday’s race at Homestead. The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing car has won here before (six poles in seven starts too). Add in the dominant 2020 win where he led 137 laps as well. Simply, Hamlin rides well on this track and has led 17.8% of the laps over the past three seasons in Miami. Toyota has been solid on this course with Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. both leading 15+% of the laps. If Hamlin does not fade late, he likely wins in February.

Now, Kyle Larson is third at Caesars with Joey Logano at +800.  Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick are still +700 at Caesars but Ross Chastain is at +1000 with five other drivers. The Caesars Sportsbook odds are just a reshuffling of some of the top racers.

Who wins the October 23rd race at Homestead? The “Round of 8” continues Sunday. Watch for the unexpected and yes, Hamlin.

The Playoff Chase Has Some Competition

Sports bettors still love Chase Elliott. However, thanks to the win at Las Vegas, Joey Logano has crept up to +275 in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Remember, Logano is the only one who has advanced so far. The battle for the other three spots has Denny Hamlin on the bubble six points ahead of William Byron.

Ross Chastain has been quite fast here in testing but so has Tyler Reddick. The Chevy’s have been sneaky quick late in runs at Homestead. Oh, William Byron won the race last year. Even Joey Logano won on this track in 2018. The Fall race often presents some different results too. Again, expect the unexpected and no Bubba Wallace. Wallace was suspended last week for his run-in with Kyle Larson and subsequent actions.

Dixie Vodka 400 Predictions & Picks

The weather expects to be pleasant Sunday with sun and temperatures nearing 85.

Next-Gen intermediate racing had a ton of mishaps but that early race was in the end of February. Expect a few more longer runs.

Finally, look at Joe Gibbs Racing for the race win at +185 and Tyler Reddick for the pole at +700. Someone has to break that Denny Hamlin streak. It may just be Reddick

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Tyler Reddick to Win (+700 – Barstool)
  • Other Contenders: Ross Chastain (+1000), Denny Hamlin (+700), William Byron (+1200), Christopher Bell (+1200)
