  • The NASCAR season concludes with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship set to run on Sunday, November 6th, 2022
  • The Final Four includes Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, and Joey Logano
  • Below are the NASCAR Cup Series Championship betting odds and picks ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads out to Phoenix, Arizona, for the final race of the 2022 season. The Phoenix International Raceway is a 1-mile “low-bank” short track. The race distance totals 312 miles (312 laps). Now, who will be able to negotiate the Martinsville 8-11 degree banks and win on Sunday?

The last race is a week after the Xfinity 500, where Christopher Bell advanced via a win for the second time this playoff.

The table below lists the full slate of NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds (win, podium finish, and top-ten finish). Under the table, find the NASCAR Cup Series Championship predictions and best bets for this weekend’s NASCAR action.

Elliott enters this race as a slight +250 favorite to win, followed by Christopher Bell at +350.  Keep in mind, there are two sets of odds which can be confusing. Only four drivers can win when it comes to the championship odds. Elliott is favored at +195 there with Bell right behind him at +260. Chastain and Logano come in at +285.

NASCAR drivers will start their engines on the one-mile, 75-115-122 stage lap setup when the flag drops for the Sunday afternoon race beginning around 3:00 pm ET on NBC.

Chase Elliott a Slight Betting Favorite Again for Finale

Yes, Chase Elliott barely remains a favorite for Sunday’s race at Phoenix. The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Racing car has won here in November of 2020. That was the year Elliott won the NASCAR Cup Championship.

Now, Kyle Larson is third at Caesars with Joey Logano at +800.  Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick are still +700 at Caesars but Ross Chastain is at +1000 with five other drivers. The Caesars Sportsbook odds are mostly the same as other sites with some shorter numbers on Chase Elliott at +240. Again, the first four drivers from the “Final Four” have much shorter odds as they have won the past couple of finales (Elliott in 2020, Larson in 2021).

The Playoff Chase Ends Sunday

Sports bettors love Chase Elliott. However, thanks to the win at Martinsville, Christopher Bell has crept up to +325 (+350 for Barstool) in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Remember, Bell is going to try and win three straight walk-off races. That has not been done in the modern playoff era.

Ross Chastain did the equivalent of a centrifuge while defying physics on Sunday. His crazy wall-surfing move got him past Denny Hamlin in the standings to make the “Final Four”. Chastain has decent numbers at Phoenix along with Logano but Bell and Elliott are the hotter drivers for this race.

NASCAR Cup Series Championship Predictions & Picks

So, the weather expects to be Sunny on Sunday with temperatures in the 70-75 range.

Next-Gen short-track racing had an elevated number of cautions in March. Expect more chaos behind the lead racers.

Kyle Larson will get a huge look by many as his +1400 number is enticing. Larson has a shot of winning the Owners’ Championship still. A split champion would be different. Anything is possible. Anything.

Because of the fact this is the finale, expect some extra bets via social media over the weekend before the race.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Christopher Bell to Win (+350 – Barstool)
  • Other Contenders: Kyle Larson (+1400), Ross Chastain (+400), Denny Hamlin (+1800), Kevin Harvick (+1800)
  • Longshots:  Martin Truex Jr. (+4000), Aric Almirola (+10000), Erik Jones (+20000)
